I have just heard on the radio news that a 25 year old pregnant woman has been stoned to death in Pakistan by her father and family because the father hadn't sanctioned the marriage.
How very, very sad for the poor woman, and how sad that such barbaric behaviour still exist in the world.
The father is in custody and feels no regret for the death of his daughter. On BBC News a young man being interviewed said she deserved it as she brought dishonour on her family. Yet an old man said it broad shame on Pakistan.
Broad daylight, police and others watched and did nothing. I despair.

Just switched on to Ch4 News and this case was being discussed. Now I hope I've got this right and I'm sure I'll be quickly corrected if I'm wrong but CH4 is alleging that: 1. The father/family of the murdered lady had also murdered her younger sister a few years back! And 2: That the murdered lady's husband had strangled his first wife and mother of his 5 children in order to marry the second, i.e. the murdered Farzana. And I thought it couldn't get any worse!
If the religious apologists around here get wind of what you lot are saying, you're in big trouble. I was going to add a wink to that - but seriously - what's funny? :o(
