/// It emerged this morning that, because of his mental health, he will now be able to appeal against his sentence in a bid to win an early release. ///

What to kill again?

When will they ever learn?

Being transferred to Broadmoor could mean he is NEVER released regardless of the sentence he received.

It is worth noting that Ian Brady hasn't been 'in prison' for many years.
It's doubtful that this dangerous idiot will be released anytime soon, so I can see no reason to panic. If he is transferred to Broadmoor, or similar...so be it.
I very much doubt he'll ever get out. I just hope he doesn't get transferred to a psychiatric hospital.
Should have just hung him and have done with it
Why do people keep saying that? We don't hang people in this country!
You might be getting confused welshyorkie

Adebowale is the killer here.

Not us.
I know who the killer is Zeuhl and I know we don't hang people anymore ummmm - just wishful thinking on my part.
I like the idea in one of the comments to double his sentence every time he appeals
Just makes me laugh
/I know who the killer is .... just wishful thinking on my part/

WY

so if I understand you; you understand Adebowale is a killer, and that is wrong. But your wish is that we become killers too.

is that it?
He'll be looking over his shoulder for the rest of his life. Don't you think that's a worse punishment?
Let's hope common sense prevails rather than right-on liberalism.

I agree totally Welshyorkie, he should have been strung up. But unfortunate we are not allowed to due to the right-on brigade who will no doubt be campaigning for his release as locking him up affects his 'ooman rights.

This is exactly why people are pro-execution.
Umm, no I dont. Zehul if you want to put it that way fine, the answer from me is yes.
He already has a 'whole life tariff' you can't double that.
He may well end up in Broadmoor but the chance of him ever being released is very close to zero. It is actually a lot harder to get out of Broadmoor than it is to get out of prison.
Zeuhl - the short answer to that would be yes, but at least he had a fair trial - what trial did Lee Rigby have?

There comes a time when mad dogs should be killed, even though their attacks don't often prove fatal, so why should mad human killers not be killed?

It is ludicrous to say "why should we become killers ourselves" there are times when we have to kill to protect ourselves, isn't that what war is all about?

Or are some saying that we should just let them kill us without us retaliating?

OK ymb and wj

just so we understand our positions

I am opposed to killing people

You two are over there with Adebowale and his ilk and think that it's ok when it suits your purposes

Ok that's fine. Now we know.
AOG, I am pretty sure there are some on here that would like just that - so long as it is not them being murdered of course.

He was given a minimum sentence of 45 years and he is 22 years old, so technically he will be only 67 when he is released.
Bullet behind the lug sounds about right!
/Or are some saying that we should just let them kill us without us retaliating? /

aha!

Now we have the truth at last!

It's retaliation

Nothing to do with self defence.

You kill one of ours, we'll kill one of yours

Morally aog, you're somewhere down there with the gangsters you pretend to dislike so much because that is pretty much their attitude too.
