Carnivals yes, but not this particular one, that is more of a tradition in the Caribbean or Rio, neither is the Chinese new year London parade, which also attracts the crowds but strangely enough not the violence or deaths.

Incidentally why do you keep harping on about it being a 'British' tradition, doesn't it take place in Notting Hill and isn't that in London and isn't that the Capital city of 'England'?
