Thanks for the explanation.
Uncle by marriage was a sniper in the First World War.
Did they use the same tactics?
Wouldn't just one in the forehead be a better conservation of bullets especially if in the deep jungle away from your unit and your cache of more bullets?

I have heard some Muslim burkha wearers protest that it is their religious belief and right to wear a burkha in a British court of law when challenged.
You are not now telling me that these pious holy religious followers are lying and displaying contempt to the laws of the country they have adopted are you? Who do I trust?

No a high powered scoped rifle does not require a double tap in the hands of an experienced army sniper. Just windage, elevation and a good zeroed rifle will achieve the desired effect in the right spot. I have 3.I should add that I only shoot paper targets at a max distance of 600yds. My eyes are dimming with age.
I just can't imagine what they hope to achieve

Would be indeed if it wasn't for the fact that jungle carbines tend to not be scoped and have shorter barrels due to dense foliage as the Lee Enfield SMLE jungle carbine .303 with flash eliminator. Why the hell am I explaining the nastier side of firearms to you or anyone else.I am not a terrorist.I am one of the good guys I hope.
Because any knowledge is good knowledge retrocop and if I meet a guy who happened to have been a soldier in the mozambiquan army I now have something to break the ice with :)
Perhaps, retro, just like here, wit Lee Rigby. However, that doesn't condemn all Muslims in France and their colonies or ex ones.
World domination?
twutter says three suspects have been arrested

SSince we have one clip from Casablanca ( Marseillaise )
we could say - the usual suspects have been arrested....
Henrietta
Don't be too concerned about meeting a guy with a rifle from the Mozambiquan army. He probably wouldn't be pointing the dangerous end at you. As you say any knowledge is good knowledge so lets keep the gems I have imparted to to you a secret shall we.
Wow, just how do the french police work so quick to identify 3 masked suspects who could be anyone anywhere but take so long to find a way of stopping illegal immigrants waltzing over here whenever they feel like? Is it just me or are the clouseau esque behaviour they sometimes show the world just a facade?

Peter Pendant. I consider that a fantastic result by the French police. If they have the right suspects I would be surprised if they faced justice in the hands of those who murdered their colleagues..Roll out Madame Guillotine again.

I'd imagine they've been assisted in no small way by the SDECE.

Fingers crossed they're not actually captured but cornered and exterminated in a hail of gunfire not dissimilar to the one they perpetrated on innocents this morning.

Correct.A clouseauesque facade by the French police. The French are very protective to their country and citizens in modern times. That is why they happily turn a nelson's blind eye to immigrants migrating to the UK. Unlike this present mealy mouthed government they will conduct a robust response to atrocities committed on their home soil and create further difficulties for their North African guests etc who abuse the French hospitality.
Chilldoubt
Amen to that.
Well let's be honest our police found the 21 July 2005 bombers pretty quick
