I watched and observed the minutes silence while watching bbc news 24 with the sound turned down I was quite frankly taken a back with the number of people both in Tunisia and in the UK taking selfies on their phones during the 1 minute silence is it too much to ask people to refrain from using technology for 1 minute??
I saw someone (on the footage taken in Sousse) who was taking a photo during the silence. Is that the person you are referring to? It wasn`t possible to see if he was taking a picture or a selfie. Shame he couldn`t have put the camera down for a minute and just observed the silence. I guess he`ll be including the photo in his holiday shots!
Seems rather crass of you to object to people filming the ceremony in Tunisia when you yourself was watching film of it.
You cannot be certain they were filming it either, that again is your assumption. The only person I can see with a phone is holding it in a vertical position. Filming is usually done with the camera in an horizontal position. It is more likely that they were taking photographs
IMHO.. people deal with grief..and terrible things in different ways.. some take pics.. some observe a minute's silence.. by watching the tv.. which is what Me & Mr C did...we all deal with it differently.. lets not fall out... Mrs C x
These people were recording something important. Since when is that disrespectful? We live in an age where technology allows us to do so much, and this was just one such instance.
I was hopping in Sainsbury's and the majority of people stopped their shopping carts and all the tills stopped. I didn't, as although I have a huge amount of sympathy for those who have lost loved ones, the minutes silence should be kept for those who have given their lives in battle , not for random people who were in the wrong place at the wrong time.
