I remember this happening in Sarth Efrica in the good old days of apartheid in teh sixties

I am sure there are a vast variety of little-known religious sects in the world that carry to extreme the overwhelming ethos of most mainstream religions, and Christianity is right up there - that women are second-class citizens.
