Sir Oracle, thank you.
ichkeria, // At some point the religious issues get blurred by the politics, as in Ireland, but sooner or later it becomes a question of power (if it was ever really anything else)
One faction gains primacy over the other and it becomes a political struggle as well as or instead of a religious one//
In the case of radical Islam what it becomes isn’t the issue, but what it began as and what it continues to be is. Islam knows no compromise and it will never change. Islamists are not patriotic; they don't champion or defend specific countries. Islamists fight for Islam, and regardless of land of birth, hold Islam supreme above all else, considering themselves to be brothers and sisters of fellow Islamists everywhere. However, in your case I’m preaching to the converted – literally – so I’ve no doubt you’re well aware of that.
Make no mistake, the troubles in Northern Ireland bear no resemblance whatsoever to the universal disaster that is fundamentalist Islam. The west is complacent at its peril.
