Togo - "Debate is the word umm. If we do not agree with a point do we say nothing until we feel the weight of argument is counter to what we think, rather than be judged as bullies by self appointed adjudicators?"

Debate is indeed the word, but ummmm is absolutely correct – over the last few months there has been a sustained and vitriolic attack on both my opinions, and on me personally, including sustained personal abuse which cannot by any stretch be referred to as ‘debate’.

There are no ‘self-appointed adjudicators’ on here – there are moderators who are judged to be experienced and mature and impartial enough to assist with policing the site when the ED and staff are not on line – but they are not ‘self-appointed’.

Hope that helps.

Togo - Debate is good but looking for a discrepancy in everything someone says gets tiresome. You only have to look at the Egg Heads thread when Andy wrote 'puff piece'

Jeez...the drama of a well used phrase!!
More action, less talk, Baldric ;-)
Please stop the infighting
I see some are here to seek answers to questions. Some are here to seek questions to answers. Whoooo are you ooo ooo oo oo?
I second that Daisynonna

Seems free speech is a no no on here tonight.
Baldric - "Seems free speech is a no no on here tonight."

Free speech is essential every night.

Gratuitous abuse is a no no on here every night.
aog they should be locked up and the minors taken into care. But the social workers and the judiciary are looking for more lucrative targets who will offer less resistance.
Baldric you have responded 7 times to this thread.
Not one response has been to answer the question.
This is not about free speech, it's about making things very boring for the rest of us.

Wow, are we back on the thread again?

There’s a novelty!!

I understand that the two have been jailed for a year, and banned from any contact with this child ever again.

I also understand that they are to be banned from teaching for life.
With reference to the original question, child abuse is child abuse whoever is the abuser.
Suspended jail term? No way. They have clearly broken the law and will continue to do so if they are not removed.
Quizproquo "Baldric you have responded 7 times to this thread.

I wish to be associated with the remarks of the previous speaker!
DaisyNonna - "Suspended jail term? No way. They have clearly broken the law and will continue to do so if they are not removed."

You may not be aware, but the two men have been jailed for a year, and will be banned from teaching for life.

Sadly, that will not prevent them from carrying on abusing children in the mosque behind closed doors.

Quizproquo, you have responded twice to this thread, once to say "I agree" and once to criticise me, most likely because I criticised you last night>

We're back on the OP now - please come and join us, and let's drop the sniping shall we?
No Baldric, because it's boring, you;re boring for doing it and I don't want another discussion full of you picking on people.
I was enjoying reading the discussion before you and others made it all about Andy. Again. Please stop it.

Ah, I think you need to talk to QPQ about that to be fair, don't you?
andy, whatever the outcome was the question asked was :
Surely these two should not even be considered for a suspended jail term?
That was the question I answered.
I would like to know who wrote the pre-sentence reports.
