All who have not followed this thread from the beginning should have a refresher starting with 16.16, 16.40, 16.42, 16.43, 16.45. I find the gap between 16.16 and 16.40 to be significant. Then follow it through and be wary.
Old QPQ has an awful lot to say for herself for a new member. It's unusual for people to start giving out gratuitous advice so soon after joining.
That's normally the preserve of long, long standing members.
QPQ?

Ahhh...cheers. Thanks.
How many other new members have been dishing out gratuitous advice on this thread, ummmm?
Daisy whoever wrote the pre sentence reports is a buffoon and thank goodness their pleas went unanswered.
Agreed Mamya, glad we are in accord.
Svejk...?
Dougie // Alternatively the child could be possessed by demons and require regular beatings to drive them out. Yes, I'm kidding. //

Prof Gubbay = prof of medical history said: " that was in the books in the 1680s but people were as bright as we are - look at Newton and so on....
so they did it once perhaps and then did something else. But the books said still to beat them. This means that books are not a guide to what people did in the late seventeenth century......

and yes Git - I dont say this often
if it comes to being sentenced by one of her majesty's judges or yourself then I would choose one of her majesty's judges every time

[ blimey I really dont say that very often at all: I usually refer to them as blind stupid and toothless, ( and demented ) [ and { diseased } - syphilitic even - I am still on the subject of judges - deaf and brainless - incorrigible, useless opinionated ]

my support of her maj's judges is over

We're trying to keep to the OP and not get into sledging each other – especially new members – it gives a bad impression of the AB.

Thanks.

Please can we be polite and use Proper User Names?

I have been involved in a personal spat (now concluded) when I shortened AOG’s name to make a point – that is finished with, so let’s return to normal please.

Thanks.
Don't want your 'thanks' or your advice, thanks.
Svejk - "Don't want your 'thanks' or your advice, thanks."

Noted - but sledging new AB'ers is not acceptable, please remember Site Rules.
Both jailed for twelve months.

I am being honest! I am never anything less than honest – ever.

Oh yes?

/// For the record, I am a music journalist ///

?????????????????????????????
Oh, for Heaven's sake.....

Could you 'gentlemen' stop all the chest-thumping and willy-waving and nit-picking and address the topic to hand instead of trying to knock lumps off each other?

It is tedious and has spoilt numerous threads in recent times.

Thank you.

?????????????????????????????"

The crux of the point was 'occupations'.

I am a music journalist in my spare time - which I have advised many times, and Baldric claimed to know what most people did for a living.

My occupation is an admin. job with BT - so music journalism is not my job.

Hope that clears up any confusion.

If you check the conclusion of yesterday's exchange, you will see that - as far as I am concerned - threads spiralling into spats will be avoided by my intention not to be drawn in - because you are right - it spoils threads, and goes nowhere.
