> If Pegida had a much broader spectrum of support, then I think that their message would be treated seriously by a broader audience.

Sp, did you not read the link from Tonyav regarding the composition of the Pegida UK marches? Look closely again.

He isn't Nick Griffin, that's for sure. What a pity in many ways that we all seem so obsessed by him

I'm not obsessed by him at all but if he is talking sense then I will listen. The same goes with Maajid Nawaz.

What are posters opinions on that chap?

Nawaz, is a reformed character. Besides, he is articulate and intelligent, even more so for being well acquainted with Sam Harris.

Cameron rates him....
> he isn't Nick Griffin.

Let's get Tommy Robinson on QT. Then we shall see how unalike they are. Oh no, pointless exercise, just wouldn't be PC would it?

PiedPiper - //P.S. Tommy Robinson is exactly what this country needs. A man much to be admired. //

Why does the country need him, and what about him is much to be admired?
-- answer removed --
I fully agree with you Pied.

I did not read that link.

I don't even know which page it was on.

Are there many women on their marches?

It seems that Pegida UK seems a very make-oriented movement.

You do seem to have a bit of trouble following threads Arsen we ... er sp!
Sp - page 18 on my system.

Check it out, worth a read. Plenty of women attended yes.

Perhaps you really should read the links before posting.

//As to the march itself, well I must say that it was an impressive turnout for a first demo on a very wet February morning. From my position about 1/3rd of the way down the march, I looked around and it seemed to me that there was at least 500/600 people there, maybe more but certainly not as low as some of the ‘enemy media’ may put it. Having put on demonstrations myself I know how difficult is to get people to turn out for a launch demo, and this number is a good achievement.

As to the crowd well it was the same cross section of people who are worried about Islam that you may expect to find. There was black and white, men and women, a couple of people with Israeli flags and rainbow flags. It certainly was not an all white affair nor was it an all male one.//
PiedPiper - //Isn't it obvious after all these posts. //

Not to me it isn't!

Care to enlighten me?

Thank you...I went to that website and saw the heading:

THE 'NOW THAT'S WHY PAKISTAN IS A S***HOLE' COLLECTION

and I knew straight away that this must truly be a site where reasoned debate would be paramount.

Will read the report in a bit.

Thank for the link!

/// If you are going to get on your hind legs and spout about being the only one who sees what is going on, and you are going to be the knight in shining armour, then you'd better be pretty sure you haven't got a past that is going to bite you when the press go looking. ///

Or you could say "remembering what you did say that is going to come back and bite you, when fellow ABers go looking"

/// I haven't mentioned 'unlawful acts', and I haven't mentioned 'trouble'. ///
Wow...I've been wandering around the Farenheit211 site and now I completely understand some things that have always made me curious about some AB posters.

andy-hughes...I urge you to go to page 18 on theirs thread, and click on the link from tonyav's post.

But if you're at work, don't use your work PC...especially if they have any monitoring software in place.

I did it from my iPhone!

Stick to the marcher's comments - don't allow yourself to be distracted!

Only agchristie got an opinion on Maajid Nawaz then?

Although it must be difficult for some posters to give a honest opinion on him judging by the negative comments they have posted on a bloke because he has history of mortgage fraud and a bit of marching.
