/// I believe that image is important. If Pegida had a much broader spectrum of support, then I think that their message would be treated seriously by a broader audience. ///

To be fair it was their first appearance on a cold and very rainy England. But at least it seems to be treated pretty seriously on the Continent and even on AB judging by the numerous support it seems to have attracted.

/// Oh, and by the way - the Nazi comment is an invocation of Godwin's Law. ///

So pleased you only saw it as that, our Mr Hughes seemed to have taken much more serious than that, but then he would do wouldn't he. lol
AOG - ///// is making you sound like a nasty reactionary bigot - perhaps you should think before you press submit. ///

Please refrain from the insulting name calling, because that is making you out as a complete hypocrite, coming from the person who is forever quoting AB rules to everyone. //

It was simply a light-hearted comment.

/// I only single Mr Robinson out, because he singles himself out, with his self-appointed 'mission' to 'defend' the UK which is neither mandated, or requested, ///

Isn't that how all leaders first start out, they all set out on a mission addressing views on serious issues of which many are concerned about?

Indeed they do, but sadly, it is also the first step for self-aggrandaising egotists who are deluded into believing that they have a solution to a problem, when in fact they are simply busy becoming part of the problem.

Fortunately, it's remarkably easy to see which is which very early on - one climbs to greatness, the other stands on the spot and huffs and puffs until people get tired of empty rhetoric, and walk away.

It's a lesson coming Donald Trump's way very soon.

/// AOG - I'm trying to keep up with this thread and can't seem to find where you've plucked the AH quote from in your 13:24 post. Could you clarify ///

Certainly, it is the one below.

AG - //Ichkeria - the media though will only report what they want to report rather than give a true perspective. //

Does that explain their endless obsession with the 'Islamification' of Britain, which they bang on about every day with a 'y' in it?

/// I was exaggerating deliberately - to make a point, if my irony escaped you, then that is the price we pay for only using written communication - as I have opined many times before - meanings can and do get lost between transmission and reception. ///

Ah so your posts are simply 'deliberately exaggerations' 'ironic', simply lost between 'transmission and reception' or simply a 'light-hearted comment'?

Wish you had put us all in the picture at the beginning of this thread and then there would have been no need for anyone of us to take you seriously, and thus prevented this thread verging on almost 500 posts.

I don't think all the posts are about what I say - much as I would love them to be.

Are you complaining about the responses your thread has had?

Surely not!

And yet, sp, and yet when some fruitcake claimed that 98% of terrorist incidents in Europe were perpetrated by non-muslims you took it as Gospel truth and posted it on here. Strange, what?

What thread was that on?

I don't recall ever writing that.

Can you direct me to a the post?

Unlike the crystal clear Tommy Robinson who is unequivocal in his views.

This is interesting, quoting Europol statistics ...

Thanks for that ichkeria...I literally didn't know that.

But Svejk avers that I have posted something similar.

I genuinely can't remember that.

Hopefully he will get back with confirmation on the same.

...or maybe someone else posted it, and he mistook it for me.

I really don't know right now.

Svejk...your help would be appreciated.
AG - //Unlike the crystal clear Tommy Robinson who is unequivocal in his views. //

That's because Mr Robinson has a very simply view of the world -

'Muslims want to take over and rape our women and children and impose their rules!

See?

Simple.

Wrong, ignorant, bigoted, unfounded, racist, and hateful - but beautifully simple.
> 'Muslims want to take over and rape our women and children and impose their rules!

Andy, ok, let's sit back and see how the situation escalates....

Seriously?

Do you really think the population of this country are going to sit back and let that situation even approach realisation, much less reach it?

And that will be with or without Mr Robinson's pointless posturing - preferably without.
> Do you really think the population of this country are going to sit back and let that situation even approach realisation, much less reach it?

It's happened in Germany and elsewhere. Did the public have any choice of the vast numbers who ended up there? Who knows how many will eventually end up in the UK?
andy-hughes, //Do you really think the population of this country are going to sit back and let that situation even approach realisation, much less reach it? //

I'm confused. I could have sworn you've been saying all along that since Tommy Robinson is talking nonsense there is nothing to realise or reach.

I am happy to reiterate my position -

Is there a rise in Muslims coming into the country? Yes.

Does this as and of itself, indicate that radical Islam is sweeping the country with its agenda of Sharia law and a general take-over? No.

Is immigration a serious problem for Europe and the UK? Yes.

Are Tommy Robinson and friends the people to provide a workable solution? No.

Hope that clears up any misunderstanding.
Andy, so who is going to sort out the negative's? I don't see anyone remotely trying to tackle these issues.
andy-hughes

A colleague at work described the EDL thus...

"Relying on EDL to be a voice in discussing immigration, is like getting the Mafia to look after your maisonette because you're worried about being burgled."
andy-hughes, //Hope that clears up any misunderstanding.//

Well, not really because unless you’re confused too, from your apparent certainty that the population of this country won’t allow it to happen, it follows that you must consider it a real possibility, which of course somewhat contradicts the impression you've been giving throughout the thread.
