Gromit though has a very good point. As we will not invoke A50 until at least early next year , it leaves a long time for a 'new deal' to be offered which the new government can use as the excuse not to leave the EU but rather to have another referendum on staying in with a new deal.
I say early next year as Cameron is here until the Conservative conference in October, then there has to be 2 or 3 months of deciding who will be the new leader. This puts back A50 until after Christmas and New Year when parliament returns after the Christmas break.

Eddie, we are not prisoners. We do not have to leave on their terms. If we want to remain in the single market, they say they will insist on maintaining freedom of movement. If their terms for us remaining in the single market (freedom of movement) are unacceptable to us, we are at liberty to say 'No' - and since uncontrolled immigration was a major factor in the 'Leave' result, we should say 'No'.
Zacs-Master, as I understand it Article 50 sets out the terms for the departure of an exiting state. If those terms, agreed by the remaining members of the Union, are unacceptable to us (for example freedom of movement), then we leave on our own terms. We stop the Standing Order and walk away. As to how it affects our standing in Europe, that remains to be seen – but I’m guessing Europe will still want to sell us their BMWs and Peugeots. They’d be fools if they didn’t - but if they don't the Japanese or someone else outside of Europe will soon make up the shortfall. Don't be despondent. The world really isn't going to end.
Boris has far too many skeletons in the cupboard to become PM - in France. it would be expected - wit the saucy Hollande.
As to A50, remember the Ref was only advisory.
I find Gove a slimy toad and wouldn't trust him further than I could throw him - but, as a lawyer, he should be the man for any negotiation if it takes place - but my belief is that the EU will keep their F of Movement but qualify it with a F of Employment that allows for the posting of jobs for locals first. As to benefits, it for TM (likely candidate) to reposition the UK in the batting league and lower expectations....do that - and also secure something about immigration from outside the EU and Gove may be able to offer a second referendum that offers the divorce laid out and costed along with a much more acceptable alternative - and yes, I do have my suspicions that this has all been a bit of a stitch up.

A worrying number of people seem to think that the UK is more important to the EU than the EU is to its members. The biggest issue for the EU right now is not the UK leaving but how to ensure that other nations don’t follow suit. That involves ensuring Britain doesn’t get a better deal outside the EU than it had inside. The task for our new government is damage limitation really
It is the EU's problem how to stop others leaving. If it is seen penalising a member, about to be ex-member, in order to achieve it's aim, I'm sure that would be immediately picked up by those who want their country to leave also, as the EU showing it's true colours, and how it was all the more reason to get out now while the going is good, before it's too late.
I do not see this as being a paramount driver to any deal made. Any deals are supposed to be a win/win situation not a take it or leave it situation. (Well unless your negotiation team was useless.) It would be a gross EU error if that was the path they chose.
"//Theresa May will now be the Country's second female PM. Are you happy with that ?// The first one didn't do too bad a job IMO."
The first did an absolutely abominable job IMO, except when dealing with the EU or recovering the Falkland issue."
