No it's not, sadly. Doesn't surprise me at all.

Retro, the second local hospital would have had access to your test results. If you are MRSA stabbed it lasts 6 weeks, or even 12, I can't remember precisely, ergo it would have been unnecessary to repeat the swab if MRSA had not been isolated on your previous swab.
We need a few NHS 'Turkeys' to vote in favour of Christmas.
There needs to be root and branch pruning of the 'bloat' dragging the NHS down.

//NHS is not a business it is a service sadly many many people have lost confidence in //

That is so true and includes my wife, who trained at your old hospital 40+ years ago (St Mary's) her father a retired GP, my GP who despaired when she learnt of my lack of treatment and myself.
I thought I would have a fight on my hands when I discussed with my wife that I intended to discharge myself. It was hard enough decision for me to take but having witnessed it first hand my wife readily agreed that I should get out before I contracted some malady and my condition worsened due to neglect, ignorance and sheer laziness.
## only one commode being available for more than 100 patients. ##

I don't believe this for one moment, as that would mean only one commode for three wards, if there were thirty three + patients in one ward, and it would be more likely to be twenty to a ward.

So ONE commode for FIVE WARDS, Nooooooo Way.
No mercy, may I ask which part of the NHS you work for,?
No Mercy
St Helier were not working from notes obtained from St Georges. I had 4 heart echograms in three weeks and two kidney ultra sound scans just because my St Georges notes had not been forthcoming and were not on 'the system'. They are entirely different trusts, Epsom and St Helier and Wandsworth and Richmond.
Which part?

I work in Haematology / Oncology. I have previously worked in Trauma & Orthopaedics, Mental Health (Community), Dermatology, Rheumatology, Paediatrics and Elderly Care.
I too have need to be careful in what I actually divulge NoMercy, but I can say what I know to be the truth based on my own very illuminating experiences. I will say that not all hospital trusts are in the same dire need of reform, and can state that St Thomas's Heart and Chest hospital in Liverpool is brilliant, and a credit to all the staff. From the cleaners and porters upwards to the Consultants and Surgeons, every one of them is focused and know that they are their for the patients and not themselves. The comparison to the hospital that seemed intent on killing me was startling when I actually got there for surgery.
An impressive list n m . do you actually work ' with' patients ? Your defence of the NHS is admirable.

I agree entirely. The Royal Marsden and Epsom General almost certainly saved my life and continue to do so. The other two I have experienced in the last several weeks seemed hell bent on taking it. !!!
D'ter was in NHS mixed ward. Visiting hours over-ridden by sub-continent patients who would have 20+ visitors hanging about all day. Toilets a disgrace & faeces on ward floor from patients & visitors who probably had never used flush toilets.

Maternity wards so dirty that mothers here choose home births.
NoMercy, // Your husband didn't carry it, Naomi, someone else did. MRSA doesn't just grow spontaneously.//

Why are you telling me that? I know that. Unsurprisingly I know quite a lot about MRSA.

Money isn't the answer.
Yes, Ann, I come into contact with patients and I'm on the Cancer Unit everyday.

My defence of the NHS may be admirable, but some people's criticism is truly breath taking.

Just for the record, middle management in my Trust has been hugely whittled down. However we remain understaffed and underfunded.

I'm off out now so have a good day one and all.

When I had my last stay in Hospital about 2 weeks ago when I was 'laid-out' by that Bug, I was out of it when admitted, I came round in a bed next to the Nursing station where they could keep an eye on me, was then moved to a quieter area once settled. While I was there (4 days) the Immigrants as Mikey called them earlier were great, The Cleaning Team, Polish, were very thorough and hard working every day. The HCA's, mainly Filipino, were first class, and helped anyone who needed help. According to my Notes I was swabbed for MRSA in A & E when I went in and even the Catering Team, Brits, managed to do my creme brulee just the way I like it. It's not all bad.
Poor mikey is going to read some of this and be even more concerned for his brother's wellbeing. All I can say mikey is to be forewarned and all that, and that there really are some tremendous staff even in the worst run regimes. Just be vigilant without being paranoid when the time comes mikey.
Tambo, are you referring to KEVII or Wexham Park? WP hasashocking reputation but is steadily improving since being taken over.
The only staff I saw pulling their weight cleaning, serving meals & general labour were the Polish who worked diligently.....gawd help us after brexit.
Eccles....how did you know?
I shouldn't have to say this Baldric, but were you not fortunate to have your lovely Mrs Baldric and Luv-u-doc in attendance? I know that when the professions of some of my close family and acquaintances became known in the local hell hole, I was immediately given every consideration. They did though stop talking openly in my presence and moved me to a one room facility. I had watched 3 men die in 4 days, none of whom were considered at risk of doing so and certainly not as ill as I was myself. Scary.
Baldric, I think when people talk about ‘immigrants’ on nursing duties and cleaning teams failing to do the job properly they aren’t talking about people from Poland, but rather those from third world societies. We had a Polish girl in charge of the cleaning team in one hospital my husband was in – and she was an absolute tarter!! Good for her!! Conversely, I've seen cleaners from third world countries wipe dust from light fittings and then go on to wipe patients' tables with the same cloth - and an African nurse take a dressing from its wrapping, drop the wrapping on the floor - and leave it there. Maybe she was responsible for that week-old sandwich abandoned under a bed!
