Very sensible. Brexit seriously threatens the existence of the U.K. and threatens to destabilise Ireland. She has no choice. The votes in Scotland and NI cannot be ignored. What exactly one does, I don't know, but I don't think anyone else does yet either

And by the way OG, no one is saying Brexit won't happen. We're discussing a tactical facet of the Brexit mechanics.
Scotlands views were considered - thats why we had a referendum - if they cant accept democracy maybe we are better off without them. Like a Sturgeon - stuck on the merry go round.
I cannot believe that a British PM would virtually hand over a veto(in effect) to the power mad JimmyK.
With over 50% wanting Brexit and the opposition split between Conservative and Labour, why the demonstration of incredulity ?

'What forces continuation after a deadlock'
A legal process which is being poured over as we 'speak'.

Because I have faith that the British public aren't as dumb as you think they are.
No they are saying it can be blocked simply by not agreeing.
In addition the suggestion is that a fanatical remainer can dictate terms such that any Brexit is Brexit in name only and all the garbage folk voted to leave behind, remains.
I don't particularly think they're dumb, you brought that up. I've always dupported more decidions made by the public. But I do note almost 50% wanted to remain dictated to by the EU and that even some who had the sense not to then complained they didn't realise what they were voting for.

I'm pretty sure that May, as one of her first very public acts, wouldn't be so naive as to a) play into Sturgeon's hands and b) alienate as smidgen of just over half the population in one move.

Not sure why people are making this so personal against Sturgeon.

She is the Leader of the Party that has nearly all the MP's in Scotland....56 out of 59.
She points out that Scotland and Northern Ireland, and the City of London for that matter is part if the UK and the UK already has a government to make UK decisions. And that Scotland has already had a vote on remaining part of the Union, and Northern Ireland can have one if it insists.
The UK voted as a whole and the result of that vote should be respected by everyone.
May is just buying time whilst blaming someone else.

///The votes in Scotland and NI cannot be ignored///
Their votes were included and considered in the referendum.
Because according to the reports she has been handed cintrol, Mikey. And her MPs have a voice in government as befits that numbef of MPs.
Yes...but what is Mrs M going to do with a country that doesn't want to leave the EU ?

B) find some constitutional way out of the situation.
