I can't believe I did this, but I went to the Aunt Bessie's website and found that they are proud to use only British eggs and British and Irish meat. No word on the potatoes, but their factories are all in places you'd expect to grow potatoes large scale in (yes including Ireland) so I'd be surprised if they were importing them. It would seem a daft thing to do in the British Isles. But freezing may be more cost effective on the continent

Islay you've basically said what I was saying so don't get the terse bit. we don't have people who want to do it so why not let others who welcome the chance to?
I don't doubt people can make better at home but I did say without the faff - parboiling, bashing about, dipping in batter or whatever else people do.

I too went spud bashing in my teens, but I'm pretty sure it all mechanised now. No need for people of any nationality to pick by hand. And certainly no need for us to be importing potatoes, frozen or otherwise.

I am transferring my allegiance to Albert Rooster frozen chips. Just as nice as Aunt B's, maybe better and entirely British

I didn't buy them before, but now definitely won't - ever!

We buy Yorkshire frozen peas and Yorkshire frozen broad beans and Yorkshire spuds here! :) (I think we also do Yorkshire frozen carrots and others, but I'm not sure about that yet.)

I grow my own peas, broad beans, runner beans. Freeze beautifully and last the year

McCain's potato products are also entirely British. I know lots of people love them but I don't like them at all
