They were in the wrong and its about time the accepted it.

Firstly, the Burka isn’t a choice that all women who wear it make, so I can only assume that those who support a woman’s right to wear it also support a man’s, or indeed, a religiously motivated political regime's right to subjugate her. Secondly, the burka is not conducive to integration. Thirdly, and perhaps most importantly to this discussion, the burka is NOT a religious requirement. As I said, there is no comparison between the subject of the OP and the discussion that you are now attempting to open up.

DB ...all the various court cases that have evolved in this affair, have made it quite clear that it was not reasonable to refuse to take the order for the cake.

The family have lost...twice, including their appeal, so that is the end of it !

I doubt you were present in any of the Court Hearings, so what do you know that the Courts were unaware of ?

As I understand it, the issue was not that the bakery refused to take the order, rather that they did take the order, and then a week later, advised the customer that they were cancelling the order on grounds that broke the law.

When I believe my point has been made, I will move on, and I will also move on to suit side issues and subsequent points that others bring up.

DB....yes it is the end of the affair, unless the bakery owners decide to appeal to the appeal. Until they do, the latest judgement of the Appeal court still stands.

So your assertion that it was a "reasonable excuse to not make the cake"
is wrong....not by my understanding of it, but by the Courts.
