Naomi - // andy-hughes, No, what is silly of you is assuming that you speak for everyone else on the site whether they have read any contributions, or none of them.
Not the site - but I did assume that those who have read your posts on this thread would have understood what you'd said several times previously. My mistake perhaps for endowing other readers here with a smidgeon of intelligence - but personally, I prefer to give them the benefit of the doubt and for that I make no apology. //
How about - if anyone doesn't understand something I have said, they ask me to clarify it, and if no-one asks, I can assume that they understand, and then you won't need to speak for them at all will you?
As for your rather sarcastic reference to 'endowing other readers here with a smidgeon of intelligence' - again, I doubt that anyone on here needs their intelligence assessed and rated by you, but now they know that if they feel the need, you are there to be called on.
Unlike you,I don't assume that everyone has read the entire thread - as some say they haven't, so I am happy to reiterate my view. You are welcome to ignore my view if you have already read it - and others can decide to read it or not - if that's OK with you?
//What appears to have occurred here is that this couple were so chock full of religious bigoted indignation, that they had to make sure that the customer knew exactly why his cake fell below their own personal lofty standards//
Appears to you. Not to me. You're quick to accuse people you disagree with of bigotry, but bigotry is defined as 'an intolerance towards those who hold different opinions from oneself.' Hmmm.... //
Yup - hands up, I admit that I am only human, and occasionally, my own bigotry surfaces in the sight of breathtakingly arrogant bigotry such as this couple have produced.
I'll live with it.
