I am not that surprised at this, as prejudice and bigotry abound when it comes to nursing mothers.

But in this particular case, the ignorant person making the complaint was another woman !

If something is in my eye-line that offends me, I merely have to rotate my eyes a few degrees in either direction, and it is not longer in my eye-line. If something offends you like this, you have the option to look away. I would imagine she was very discreet. As I said a little earlier, feeding mothers don't have their breasts on view.
I breast-fed both my daughters, but I would challenge anyone to notice that they saw anything objectional - and this was 40 years ago! I was careful, of course, and on the rare occasions that we ate out we always sought-out a quiet, out-of-the-way table. No problem. Never been to a Nandos so don't know the layout, but it surely is possible to be discreet today? She should not have been abused.

Rather agree with NJ re. spoon-fed toddlers, ghastly sight and put me off my meal - a special area is really required there.
Cloverjo Sounds like she did - and I don't think that's necessarily true anyway. Lots of Mother Earth types out there who love to embrace 'nature' and expect the rest of us to appreciate that.
^^^ objectionable..... sorry, have problems these days with windows 10.
I'd rather see a breast feeding mum than a topless photograph flooding the media.
Was that the alternative option?
The mother in question was with her wife. Could it be that the woman objecting was prejudiced against same sex marriage?
How would she know?

NJ..."shovelling slurry" ?

"Drag their offspring round with them to places where they really should not"

My God....you have excelled yourself in the Grumpy Old Man stakes there.

You should be ashamed of yourself.
Oh yes disgusting isn't it, what with Nandos being such an upmarket cordon bleu restaurant and all.

Beso...I have never been in a Nando's, nor even seen one, although I suspect its some kind of burger place.

But isn't it immaterial what kind of place it is ? Nando's have said that its OK to breastfeed an infant in their restaurants, so perhaps they should have been a little more pro-active here ?
Mikey, you don’t really know what happened. If this mother fed her baby discreetly, as she claims she did, I have to ask why her breasts were visible to other diners?
whilst I uphold their rights to feed some flaunt it in an uncomfortable manner...I agree there is a time a place and a manner in which to feed...I was in COSTA once and a nursing mother had removed her top completely...not appropriate and quite unnecessary
I was feeding my son in my mates living room and her brother in law complained.
Given this has reached the papers rather looks like yet another attention seeking trying to make a point.

If it was discreet then no one would see a breast no problem. Whipping them out when others are eating is not really on and a selfish act.

Breaking wind is natural, bet the feeding mother would object if I sat next to her and did that through her meal
//Breaking wind is natural, bet the feeding mother would object if I sat next to her and did that through her meal//
she probably wouldn't be the only one to object ...

You are entitled to be offended, you are not entitled to be abusive.
It's a boob. Why on earth is a boob offensive
