//Not sure there is anything progressive about letting a convicted murder out on our streets// Gromit would never ever support such a Liberal action....in any circumstance. Unless of course know different. Meehh.
My point is' IF 'the exact situation had happened with a Afghan being put on a murder charge for execution of a wounded British soldier, would your opinion be the same! Trying to get out of it by saying it would never happen! is NOT the point !
I am asking what would your true opinion be IF IT DID HAPPEN!!!!
We need to be certain our opinions are not clouded by racism or xenophobia !
Chad Evans was a rapist , and many people on this site took great delight in that - although those same people were remarkably silent when he was exonerated,

Bedknobs - it's quite clear I accept other people's views hence my comment about Gromit. You must have missed that bit, although I'm struggling to see how given it was at the start of my post, but Islay just takes an arbitrary 'he deserves all he gets' which isn't very bright.
so what, it's her opinion, just like its yours that it's not a very bright response. Just because you don't agree with her sentiment, you want her not to have the opinion!
Justice is 'Blind' that is a basic tenant of the law. Justice does not recognize race, creed or colour only FACT. The appeal will proceed and come to judgement based on FACT alone!
My post would have been the same if this case had involved a British and German in WW2, an American and a North Vietnamese in the Vietnam war or a Protestant and Catholic in the NI 'Troubles'
Blackman shot an insurgent described as mortally wounded following an argument with an Apache Helicopter Gunship. Intensive Care for prisoners or our own Troops are a bit thin on the ground on the front line (trust me, I've been there) he might, just might, have done the guy a kindness.
Baldrick I agree 100%, the problem is that the Geneva convention requires that he aided the wounded man in any way he could even if, as is virtually certain, it would have been useless. But he knowingly and intentionally broke the convention by shooting him!
