If A Christian Couple Can Be Fined For Refusing To Sell Something They Believe Is Against Their Religion Then Why No Action Against This Person?

OK, so IMHO religion is the root of most evil but lets forget that bit because what I am trying to understand is why there seems to be one rule for one and another for a certain other religion we all have to bend ovcer backwards to accommodate?

How did they "fail to comply with their side of the concession agreement"? Why did the girl not just ask for assistance from a colleague? Are you insisting that Tesco had not advised her that this was the proper response to her traumatic dilemma?
I had better go and do a bit of shopping as I have promised. I may even nip into Tesco and pick up a bottle of vino. See if I can spot a Muslim till operator. (^_*)

Togo - ////Ergo, they failed to comply with their side of the concession agreement. //
How did they "fail to comply with their side of the concession agreement"?
They failed because it must be clear that the company agreed that this employee would not be required to handle alcohol,. and then they put her in a position where she would have to handle alcohol - that is a failure on the part of the company.
//Why did the girl not just ask for assistance from a colleague? //
I have absolutely no idea, you'd have to ask her that question.

I am not 'insisting' on anything. I have no idea what Tesco's policy is in this situation, nor if it was advised to this employee or not, or if she complied with it or not.
In order to answer those questions, I would need to know the policy, if it was advised to her, and if she followed it, and since I was not there, I can't answer you.

If you can determine someone's religious affiliation by standing at their checkout, then you are obviously wasted on here!
But if you do determine that your checkout operative is indeed a Muslim, there will be no issue, because by operating a checkout, they will have confirmed that they have no issue with handling and serving alcohol.

TWR - //Zac,as i said earlier, Tesco & the likes sell wines, beers, she knew that when she started, she had the choice whether to take the job, what will they be moaning about next, selling durex? //
The entire crux of this issue, and this debate, is that this employee appears to have had an agreement with her employers whereby she would not be required to handle or serve alcohol.
That means that regardless of whatever else her check-out colleagues do, she was exempted from that particular aspect of check-out protocol, which is why she was not employed as a check-0ut operative.
The issue arose because someone took alcohol to the kiosk where she worked, not to a check-out.
