Talbot I have told you why I wrote what I wrote. Do you now claim to know me so well that you are going to tell me why I wrote what I wrote?
Thanks Naomi. Yes, I successfully showed the illogicality in someone's (YMB's?) earlier post.
fiction-factory, but you didn't. You suggested that the sale of these garments would prevent women from being beaten. You said you don't get it and I believe that. You really don't.
I like Debenhams and so won't be joining in any boycott.
Sorry if my intransigence results in more or fewer Muslim ladies getting walloped (depending upon your point of view, of course).
Incidentally, I won't be boycotting Debenhams either. I like Debenhams.

Thank you for that ChatterBank link of October 2016, I unfortunately, completely missed that one, but it still made interesting reading.

After reading through the whole 133 posts, made me realise what a wise decision I made, when I chose to no longer debate with a certain ABer.

No you don't get it. If you think that by Debenhams selling these then more women will get beaten, I cannot see the logic. If you think that if Debenhams were to be persuaded by boycotts not go into this market then fewer women will be beaten, again there seems no logic.
^That was to Naomi

Why bother contributing to the debate when you can further your ludicrous personal vendetta with another pointless offering.
You dare not say who YOU meant dare you Islay ...
Pretending many women are not forced to wear burkas or the hijab doesn't make you a better person than me. You constantly try to make out I am bigoted against ethnics (only you can answer as to why)
I have never said women should not wear the hijab, I have actually said I am quite happy for them to wear it so long as THEY are choosing to wear it and not being subjugated into wearing it.

I know for a fact many are.

Why are these things called "debates" ???

I am right , you are wrong and I will have the last word seems a better description.
Why should Muslim women abandon their traditional dress?

What purpose would that serve?
SP - if one side didn't think they were right, and the other side didn't think they were right, there would be no debate, just a rather tedious amount of people telling each other how right they are.

As to having the last word - in my experience, debates reach a natural end, and people move on to the next one.
The natural end seems to occur when some get fed up of banging their head against a brick wall.
There has only been sunny dave of the 'look at me I'm not the least bit bigoted, racist, xenophobic' posters that has had the balls to mention the naming of this range ... Modest Fashion'

Do any of the more mealy-mouthed posters have an opinion on this or is it something you would rather ignore?

Don't you think it would help in the continuous quest for integration?

So are you also demanding that Orthordox jews give up their distinctive dress code?
You've gone quiet again, Islay.

How many threads are you going to enter and try to push forward your agenda accusing me of bigotry without supplying any evidence?
What's wrong with 'Modest Fashion'?
