There's two possibilities .... he didn't submit the bio or didn't proofread the bio.

He did submit the bio/ he did proofread the bio but being a young unknown author he thought it would make him sound more worldly-wise.



Let's imagine you were going to stand for election ... wouldn't you proofread the pamphlet to check the facts printed about you were correct?
