Mamya I live in Brighton (Hove actually;-) and a one bed flat in my small block is let out for £225. So £153 wouldn't get you very much. Is £85 realistic for your area do you think?

Well lets stick to Housing Benefit - each Council says what type of property given your family size etc you are entitled to benefit for and if you are granted benefit they set a figure to pay you (LHA).

How much the property is worth is entirely a matter for the property owner and not the tenant.

LB, I think it about covers what a tiny one bed Council flat charges or a small one bed private but not much more.

Many people have to pay quite a top up if they are in receipt of HB if they want to live in something larger than a shoe box.

Em but his wife, who I believe I read also gets full disability and the rest, will probably stay here with any family so don't bank on it.

He does not own it it is a housing association house .
