The Labour leadership probably want to shut her up because the party relies on Pakistani voters in quite a few constituencies.
Completely missing the fact that the majority of Pakistanis find the paedophile gangs equally as abhorrent as everyone else.
Maybe some are waiting for every pakistani in britain to visibally condemn these crimes and the pakistani prime minister to get on his hands and knees in tears begging for forgiveness.
She spoke the truth, and nothing but the truth. She should not have resigned. Disturbing that she was forced to.
If I were Chinese or Hindu or any sort of Asian male I would be furious at being slandered so broadly. The problem lies mainly with Muslim Pakistani males - with a few Muslim Eastern Europeans and an occasional 'sport'. The common word seems to be 'Muslim'. I don't have much I can resign from; I don't think the Community Centre Committee will care.
Of course not all Muslim males are paedophile groomers, but the vast majority of such people are Muslim males - it needs to be said and their attitude to race comes into it.
Politics. Regardless what the majority of Pakistani voters believe regarding the situation, they ain't going to all want to be tarred by the same accusation/description. Britain has a problem with girls being raped and exploited, where a greater than expected percentage of British Pakistani men are found to be responsible. One's bound to need to fall on one's sword if implicating the whole community.
There are gangs of Asian men, mainly racist Pakistani Muslims, who are targeting underage white girls in order to groom and rape them, because white girls are considered fair game.
This is an undeniable truth.
Unfortunately Labour appear to be more concerned with the perceived racism of suggesting the above and upsetting the Pakistani community (and thereby losing votes) than the grooming and raping of underage white girls.
I'm not sure who the people who are not on this thread (probably busy fighting racism where ever they see it) listen to when it comes to this topic but here are comments from two Pakistani's
nazir afzal
The same sickening attitudes towards women in Pakistan and India are now held by growing numbers in British towns and cities – with white girls seen as the lowest of the low.
A number of commentators have argued that it was racism that motivated the Newcastle grooming gang, as they saw the girls as 'white trash'. I won't deny that racism can be an issue. But violent misogyny is the underlying cause
//The men, who were mostly British-born, were from Iraqi, Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Indian, Iranian and Turkish communities//
Probably because she singled out Pakistani men.She might have got away with it if she had said Asians.
/// Jeremy Corbyn said Labour would not "demonise any particular group". ///
Except of course if they happen to be right-wing, white Christian British, Labour finds it very hard to witness criticism being aimed at non whites and one particular religion.
But as regards the Muslim religion it seems that those of all political leanings, fall shy of placing any blame on that religion.
In a LBC phone-in last night, the presenter made it clear that Muslims can't be blamed only those of the gangs who happen to be Pakistani???? Strange that, aren't Pakistanis mainly Muslims?
And we don't see such gangs of child groomers amongst men from the Sikh or Hindu religions.
