As I said this has happened to me. It was no big deal as someone else swiped alcohol through. All in less than a minute. I did not flounce and everybody happy. Oh I get it now, you'd rather the Muslim person was claiming dole??!!??
Were you finding it difficult to put 'perspective' in your own words danny?

What is your point?
Other than trying to insult me.
// Oh I get it now, you'd rather the Muslim person was claiming dole??!!??//

No, just doing a job they can do properly.
My point is that you are not taking a reasoned view of the situation. Is it just that a Muslim is involved?
Corby, I believe the same people were ready with the pitchforks and burning torches when there was a similar incident at Tesco last year!
I've shopped at Aldi many times, in the early days of them opening near me I found them frustrating but soon settled to their methods.

All seems much slicker now, if this has been the only till or this action had caused huge queues (which we've all seen anyway) hopefully someone would have either opened another till or relieved that operator.

I know that jobs there entail you pitching in on every level, so not sure what the arrangement was with this employee, whether it was known in advance or not, a slight inconvenience - yes.

Up to Aldi to decide how to proceed now.

I personally would have gone to the next till, would not have felt the need to complain or go public - but that is how I operate.

Good grief.
I would have the same problem if some idiot Catholic tried to make me believe it was reasonable for them not to sell me a condom at a chemists. (see earlier post from Islay)

This person is a flag waving attention seeker doing their bit to broadcast Islam. Little by little. Remove them from that position.
Mamya I think that's how most even tempered sensible people would have reacted!
Groan
Interestingly I was once rather brusquely 'handed over' (her words) to another colleague when buying condoms in a pharmacy. I smiled - why not.

A very large chap in a Bar in South of France refused to sell me cigarettes and insisted I get a man to buy them as it was unladylike, that one made me giggle.

I wasn't going to argue he was almost seven feet tall.

If I employed someone to do a job I would expect them to meet the
T's and C's of their contract 100%, not cherry-pick out the bits they don't like, Religion would not enter into it, you can either do the job or not.
Baldric, they are meeting the terms exactly as Aldi laid them out.
Have you got a Aldi employment terms and conditions to hand then, sharon?

I do not see refusing to handle a product sold by their employer as meeting the T's and C's, and if Aldi are willing to accept that then bigger fools them.
(Personal opinion, OK?)
If I am in Aldi & the only till without a que is manned by a female wearing the Hijab or Burka, can I ask to be served by someone else ?
got a link sharon!
No but come on, Audi know they're employing someone who cannot handle alcohol and they're happy to amend the t&c to suit.
