All seems much slicker now, if this has been the only till or this action had caused huge queues (which we've all seen anyway) hopefully someone would have either opened another till or relieved that operator.
I know that jobs there entail you pitching in on every level, so not sure what the arrangement was with this employee, whether it was known in advance or not, a slight inconvenience - yes.
Up to Aldi to decide how to proceed now.
I personally would have gone to the next till, would not have felt the need to complain or go public - but that is how I operate.

My point is that you are not taking a reasoned view of the situation. Is it just that a Muslim is involved?
Good grief.
I would have the same problem if some idiot Catholic tried to make me believe it was reasonable for them not to sell me a condom at a chemists. (see earlier post from Islay)

Interestingly I was once rather brusquely 'handed over' (her words) to another colleague when buying condoms in a pharmacy. I smiled - why not.
A very large chap in a Bar in South of France refused to sell me cigarettes and insisted I get a man to buy them as it was unladylike, that one made me giggle.
I wasn't going to argue he was almost seven feet tall.
