There's an answer to that Finny, but I dare not give it.
Regarding products containing pork or other forms of alcohol ie wipes and gels - the only way to get an answer to that would be the quiz the employee.

Finn is your man as he seems to know them by name.
TALBOT, your list begins with E100 which is a colour obtained from turmeric. Did you check your facts?
Finny....100% correct ::::::

By the way, the British managed to offend both the Hindus and the Muslims !
A few years ago I had a good reason to be locked in a pub in Luton after hours.. St Patricks day .. It was a sureal experience nearly everyone in the pub was well and truely scattered and most were named Ali or Mick.
The vast majority were muslim and they were certainly handling their alchohol .. not very well I might add.
It obviously appears to be a rule that can be bent when need be ?
TALBOT, "Sunset Yellow FCF (also known as Orange Yellow S, or C.I. 15985) is a petroleum-derived orange azo dye...when sold in Europe, it is denoted by E Number E110." Not pig fat then?

It was from a sight warning Muslims what E numbers to look out for ... I will see if I can find it.
//The vast majority were muslim and they were certainly handling their alchohol .. not very well I might add//
i think one of them must have taken a job at aldi and vowed to never touch another drop again ...

E100 Curcumin/Turmeric

Halal if pure grind turmeric powder or granular. Mushbooh if used as liquid, the solvents has to be Halal. Haraam if hidden ingredient is pork fat based emulsifier in dry mix.
This is not the one(there are many) but you get the drift.

s just one small step from not being able to buy alcohol at one till when another till at which you could buy alcohol is available to total prohibition under a caliphate.
So clearly this Muslim is handling haram products ... yes?
Not one small step, Jim. A series of incremental ones
TALBOT, have a read of this link to the end, http://www.foodguide.org.uk/?page=viewquestion&id=229
Selling alcohol is not against her religion so if she refuses to sell it, then it's only fair to dock her wages. So if alcohol makes up, say, 10% of overall sales in that branch of Aldi, her wages are reduced by 10%.

I wonder if she would continue to continue selling alcohol thereafter....
Why are there so many sites that warn of these http://www.muslimconsumergroup.com/e-numbers_list.html sites warning Muslims about e numbers?
NoM, how many similar reports have you read in the paper over the past year or so? How many billions of transactions have there been in that same period?

Will you be boycotting Aldi, if you ever use it in the first place?
haram E120 Cochineal / Carminic Acid

Color Obtained from insects. All insects except Locust are Haram in Islam. 09/28/05

E120 ... Haram
How many products do you think Aldi sell contain E120?

Or are all these sites spoof?
Corby - I will only boycott Aldi if and when I am refused alcohol in the name of religion and the supervisor or manager upholds the views of the person refusing to serve me on the grounds of religious beliefs. Until such time I shall enjoy shopping at my local Aldi and assume that my custom is very much appreciated.
TALBOT, where doe it mention pig fat in your link? It gives situations when certain E-numbers may or may not be halal so it is not clear cut. With a bottle of wine, it is CLEAR it is alcohol.
