As a paying customer, I expect to be served the products that I wish to buy.

As I see it....and it's pure conjecture and my opinion! I think Aldi dropped a .......because maybe...just maybe they dint even consider on interview for the job the Muslim person went for...to even ask if they would serve all goods they stock. However if that was the case and they employed said person, that person later has come up for whatever reason, that they will not serve alcohol.
IMO that then put Aldi in a position they felt trapped in hence they made the decision that has caused outcry. I feel that if they were to have sacked the person this may have caused outrage amongst fellow Muslims. Maybe even for demonstrations to be held outside some of their stores...only conjecture on my part. Some may even say that in the wider scenario....extremists may have done the unthinkable and if this is how aldi thought about the complications of it...I don't think they had much of a choice. Far rather them to have sorted at interview than after an event like this.....
