No other news at present, but it sounds like a dreadful waste of life.

NoM, I agree with you, having been on the receiving end (twice) of a car being stolen and subsequent hassle of lost wages, I silently fume when I hear the term 'joy riding'
There was no joy involved in this instance either.

I would hazard a guess that despite what the majority of us think about them, most car thieves are not gipsies or travellers.

Do you have any other evidence than that given, Gromit?

I would hazard a guess most car thefts are opportunist unless in the super car league, and probably by youngsters from whatever ethnic group

But what is the significance of the traveller aspect to this tragedy ?

I haven't seen any hard evidence that these boys came from a traveller community, but even if they did, did they deserve to die ?

BBC News at 12 noon has just confirmed they still don't know if all 7 people were travelling in the car when it crashed. I hope they were ...

Seven does seem rather a lot of people in a Clio, even taking into account the ages of the children killed. My Fiesta is about the same size and I am not sure if I could get that many people in it.

I know personally of 2 people who are in the constabulary, 3 lawyers and a few nurses, a fireman and a dr who used to joyride, lol.
