According the latest figures available, Blacks comprise only 26.2% of the Alabama population, against 68.5% of White voters. And yet, Democrat Doug Jones won the Alabama Senate seat with the help of 96% of the state's black voters. Without that turn-out, its unlikely that the Democrats would have won, given the narrow margin of victory.
Just shows what a divided country America is, especially in Alabama.
