Have they been arrested because it is feared that they may be a threat to our safety or because they are members of a banned group?

Can't be the former because the police have insisted there is no threat to public safety.

I totally agree with Gromit's 19:30 post.

...although I have serious reservations over his description of dinner as tea.
// ..although I have serious reservations over his description of dinner as tea.//

because dinner ladies ( who serve lunch now ) are different to tea ladies ?
Perhaps they prefer "cha ladies" Pee Pee?
// That was tried in 1930 jth, not of course on a parliamentary or law of the land basis but tried nevertheless by a British political party. Go on guess who was proscribed and by whom.//

yeah I thought of that .... but there was a law - Public Order Act 1936 which criminalised the wearing of uniforms - ( ie black shirts ) and since it lasted until the seventies I dont THINK it proscribed organisations

Oswald Mosley was interned under DORA 1939 - defence of the realm act - sweeping emergency powers during the war
which we arent REALLY talking about

just saying
as ever there is so much bullshot on AB
so those are my guesses and I bet you didnt guess I wouild say that
mosley interned by churchill june 1940
ANOTHEOLDGIT, if you believe National Action have done nothing to warrant proscription I am sure you would be able to use your debating skills to convince those who make the decision that they could reach no other conclusion.
Once again Pee Pee You are using the right letters and words......... but not necessarily in the right order. ( With apologies to Eric Morecambe.)

In 1930, 10 years after the foundation of the CPGB and 12 years after the Labour Party introduced individual membership, the Labour Party produced its first ‘proscribed list’, although it was not issued under a section of the constitution.
By this means, members of proscribed organisations became ineligible for individual membership of the party and local Labour branches were prohibited from affiliating to proscribed organisations; these included the influential National Unemployed Workers’ Movement and the National Minority Movement. At the time when the restrictions were introduced, it became a condition of Labour Party membership that members already active in proscribed organisations had to leave them forthwith. Nevertheless, it took a further three years’ intense activity by the Labour Party right before it was able to change the constitution to prohibit individual members of the CPGB from joining as and remaining members of the Labour Party.
Oohhh and Bliar so much loved the idea that he was determined to gift it to the Nation..... You know like a doggie dirt bag to hang on the fences of democracy.
Not sure what all this Labour Party history has to do with anything. Proscribing is a doing word invented by the Romans. That the Labour Party proscribed Communists 90 years ago has diddly-squat to do with the banning of Terrorist in the 2000 Act of Parliament.
Haha. What did the Romans ever do for us? Taken you long enough to make a bit more cant available.

/// They deserve to be banned - apparently they openly rejoiced at the murder of Jo Cox! ///

There were many on the left who openly rejoiced at the death of Baroness Thatcher.
aog, that's just silly. Mrs Thatcher wasn't murdered. She died at a ripe old age.
AOG, and others. This was in yesterdays Guardian and appears to be about a National Action supporter :::::

What a charmer !
Still employing your scatter-gun, I see, AOG.

It doesn't matter which events you choose for comparison, National Action are a band of undesirables who aren't contributing anything positive to the well-being of the country.
AOG,

Just out of interest, what is it you like about National Action?
Why do you think them being proscribed is unjust?
Now your scraping the bottom of the barrel AOG!

As I have pointed out before there is nothing I like about National Action, simply because I do not know enough about them and I hazard a guess that many on here do not also.

All I know is the fact by their very name they are an action group but against what? There are many action groups but it seems that it is only those on the right that are scrutinised and condemned.

Shouldn't groups be allowed to protest against the changes that we can see being made to this country of ours?
AOG......" because I do not know enough about them and I hazard a guess that many on here do not also"

Can I suggest you immediately get to know more about NA....everything you need is right here ::::

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Action_(UK)

The earlier link that I posted at 09:29 should also be highly informative. Whoever this man is, he has already confessed to be a recruiter for NA.

Here is an extract ::::

"The jury was played a recording of the Blackpool demonstration in which a man could be heard describing Jewish people as “parasites” and arguing that Britain had taken the wrong side in the second world war. “We should have been fighting the communists,” he said. “Instead we took the side of the communists and fought the national socialists who were there to remove Jewry from Europe once and for all.”

After reading both of these links, you should be left in no doubt as to why the organisation is proscribed.

Terrible words indeed Mickey......but have we not had, and indeed in some quarters allowed, "speakers" with loud hailers on our streets calling for death to the kuffars and non believers with calls to arms and jihad. Now these people are supposedly, entitled to free speech, and any objection to their hateful rhetoric is dismissed with a view that the more we allow them to spew their bile the less effect it is likely to have on our very discerning listeners. Indeed to stop them would only result in their views being seen as somehow enticing and their proscription would result in them being viewed, by the easily led, as martyrs of some sort.................Funny old world.
Togo....there has to be a balance between free speech, and activities such as you have mentioned. I understand that other, Islamic organisations, have also been banned and proscribed.

But its AOG's continual refusal to see organisations like NA and BF for what they are.
