So should we raise the voting age to 25 then? The last thing I want is self obsessed twitface junkies effecting who's in the government.

First bit of sense I've ever seen you mutter, jno.
Spicey....no can answer for himself, but I think you will find he was being ironic and sarcastic !
Spathi, your argument does not hold water. Results and consequences are subject to many changes, and thus will not be long lived.
//This thread is simply ageist. //

Yes, and you were the biggest culprit of all!
I'm with jno, with the exception perhaps that those with land on a long lease could also vote.
Older people's attitudes to the young need to be tempered.

It's the young people of today who will be in charge when those who are at the forefront of complaining about them will be relying on them to provide for them in their dotage.

But to answer the question - no, the voting age should not be raised to 25, just as the age of consent shouldn't be dropped, just because studies have shown that the age of puberty has fallen.

sp, Are you bracketing all older people in the same mould? If so then why not bracket all youths as hooligans just because some are.?
//Older people's attitudes to the young need to be tempered. //

Seems to me it works both ways though SP.

No doubt the status quo of 18 will remain.
Calm down everybody !

The voting age will never be increased...if anything, it will come down to 16. I think people should stop dissing teenagers.
age 18 is a good time to vote, those leaving school may well have worked for a bit, and seen the world for what it really is, tough and uncompromising.
mikey, dissing teens, whatever will you come out with next, that's teen talk my friend not someone of our age group, it's disrespecting teens...
Sorry Emmie....just trying to get down with the kids !
mikey, not possible my friend.
I'm talking specifically about the older people who's attitude to millennials needs to be tempered, rather than all old people.

I'm getting increasingly concerned that some older people just dismiss the young as snowflakes and Twitter-obsessed morons.

It's reductive.
