Dec of Ant & Dec.
but it isn't part of Great Britain. it's part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain AND Northern Ireland.
Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom but is not part of Great Britain. Neither are the Isle of Man, Anglesey or The Isle of Wight.
Great Britain is the island that includes most of England, Wales and Scotland.
I thought we were the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

If so, that suggests it isn't.
I'd hope they all were capable of pointing that out.
He said Great Britain, and he is right, itisn’t.

Great Britain consists of England, Wales and Scotland.
Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Grat Britain is a geographical term rather than a political one, and refers to the biggest Island of the British Isles.

It won't matter how often it's explained, you'll be shoited doyn by otherwise calm and tolerant people. :-)
One would hope that all of them do if they hope to be factually correct.
It's a confusing one. N ireland is not, of course, part of Great Britain, which is a separate island. But is British. And "Britain" is another word for United Kingdom.
So really the celebrity is incorrect.
The link says he said, //"Northern Ireland isn't actually part of Great Britain,...//

I think that's correct.
Never let the facts get in the way of a good old rant.
You're right garaman. Dec is correct, op incorrect :-)
I would say Dec is part of Great Britain too :)
Which one's Dec?
The other one.
yeah sozza boys - great britain ( as opposed to little britain or brittany - the same word in most european languages 0 is the island of england and scotland.

actually the subject of legislation - James in 1603 wondered what to call himself - titular act 1 Jas VI &1 1603

and came up with island of Great Britain....
There's always a surreal feeling when you get into bother for being right.
Whilst Dec was of course right, to be fair to all those that called Ant & Dec thick/stupid, it doesn't help that the UK olympic team (which includes NI) calls itself team GB
