Yes, I would guess Dec is more worried about him than angry.
Only just seen the pics & vid ... he could easily have killed someone.
Depression or just depressed I hope the full weight of the law comes down on the fool.
His mother has been stopping with him and therefore must have known of his problems so why did she let him drive ?
Bloke deserves all that is thrown at him, anyone who drives when Brahms does not get my sympathy.

I think it's possible to sympathise with the cause, but not the effect.
The thing is Andy some people are not of the same mind as you as to what the 'cause ' is. You doggedly think it's linked to his depression, I think he's quite probably just a **** head. The two are not mutually exclusive or necessarily linked.

Really??????

Wow, I am truly amazed!!!!

After eighteen years on here, now you're telling me that not everyone thinks the same as me about everything????????????????????

I am going to have to go away and think about this .....
kvalidir - // You doggedly think it's linked to his depression, I think he's quite probably just a **** head. The two are not mutually exclusive or necessarily linked. //

I don't 'doggedly' think anything!

I am always open to having my view challenged, and records show that I do change my view based on what someone else has to say.

It would be a poor debate site if everyone simply banged out their view and never ever thought about what anyone else thought abut things - wouldn't it?

In fact, would suggest that anyone who took that stance would last about half a day on here!
..and you think you're not patronising? I see this thread will turn into another one of your 'Andy Hughes last word extravaganzas', mind you, don't they all eh?
"I think he's quite probably just a ***." That's a very harsh statement. How do you come to that conclusion?
Because he crashed his car when he was drunk perhaps, they do tend to do that, quite a bit actually, that's why it's illegal to drink and drive? Marvellous how he's somehow the victim in this and no-one of late on this thread seems to give two hoots about his victims. Amazing how if you like someone's public persona and they come over all remorseful the public will excuse anything.
Who are "they"?
People who think it's okay to drink to excess and then drive.
At least some good may come out of this. We may be spared any more of his ghastly TV shows.
kvalidir - // I see this thread will turn into another one of your 'Andy Hughes last word extravaganzas', mind you, don't they all eh? //

You - and everyone else - have exactly the same facilities to post as often or as rarely as you wish.

I have no control whatsoever over who has the 'last word' on any thread, nor do I especially care.

I don't think I am being patronising - I am being tongue-in-cheek with someone who is taking my contributions far too seriously.

If I irritate you, ignore me! I'll be doing the same if you keep this up!!
Are you talking about people of a rational mind or those who's judgement has been impaired by mental issues?
kvalidir - // Marvellous how he's somehow the victim in this and no-one of late on this thread seems to give two hoots about his victims. Amazing how if you like someone's public persona and they come over all remorseful the public will excuse anything. //

To have a 'victim' you have to have hurt someone deliberately, which is clearly not the case here.

Personally, I am utterly indifferent to Mr McPartlin as a presenter - my view is influenced by his medical condition, but I am not excusing him for one moment, as I have previously stated.
Yes I obviously irritate you Andy so please ignore me, that would be heaven indeed.

SJ, I'm talking about people who drink because they enjoy it or want to, and have no care about the effect that has on others, including drink driving. I am not talking about people who are mentally ill.
For the record my own father, who is a wonderful man and a wonderful father, had massive addiction issues, with hard drugs and drink, but would never drink drive despite also having serious mental health issues. Most people who drink too much choose not to. My argument with Andy is that he assumed that it's because of Ant McPartlin's addictions and mental health and I think that's a big jump to make, he may simply just drink, plenty of people do.
There is no excuse for this mans ( alleged) behaviour. He drove under the influence of alcohol. His choice, no excuses are valid apart from an addiction .
He deliberately got into a car when he was drunk Andy, anyone could have been his victim.
( alleged)
