Boris has done a runner , and will be absent for the Crucial , Heathrow expansion vote tonight,
after promising to lie down in front of the bulldozers, if it happens.

I know people who live in the 3rd runway area. They will get the price of their property +25 %. Most of them are quite happy about that. The reason that their properties are quite valuable is because of the airport. Their properties wouldn't even exist if it wasn't for LHR
..and neither would their jobs
I don't really see how we'll be in a position to enjoy more air traffic from Heathrow if Britain's ecosystem is wrecked after it.
Boris actually said he’d be ‘lying’
And he’d be doing down in front of the bulldozers.
The fact that some people are happy to take the money and run is hardly a persuasive argument. No one is suggesting closing the airport. The company that owns Heathrow will presumably have to pay for most of this: and yet somehow costs won’t be passed on to passengers? Can’t see that somehow.
Who cares!
What the Dickens will they be doing that's going to take 4 years to build

Another one of these projects thats going to massively overrun on costs
I bet the contractors are already making enquiries about private planes and mansions in the Carribbean

Who pays for the third runway ?
Flonska

Interesting to see what would happen if EU legislation clashed with UK legislation.
I love this cartoon of Boris in this weeks Sunday Times. Scroll down to the third cartoon. I roared laughing at the expression on his face!

Acccording to Whitehall sources, Boris attended a Cabinet meeting yesterday talking his usual load of rollocks, and being snubbed by most MPs.
"Well, we now what Ferrovial's intentions are in this matter:- "

It's not the same thing, Flonska:

-----
The Spanish operator of Heathrow Airport will move its international headquarters from the UK to Amsterdam in order to stay in the European Union after Brexit.

Ferrovial currently runs its non-Spanish operations, which include Heathrow, from an office in Oxford where it has been based for three years.

But it said that the UK’s decision to leave the bloc meant it needed to shift its office to another European country in order to keep the business under EU legislation.
-----
Their decision has nothing to do with Heathrow expansion. They are moving their office to Amsterdam to retain their operation under EU rules.
reference my question re costs

So , is Ferrovial stumping up all the folding re the costs of this new runway ?
ichkeria, Heathrow gets an average of £22 from each ticket. They say this won't increase. Yeah, right.
