Will knife arches and about 13,000 police officers be enough to prevent more knife crime in 'Wild West' London?

Never heard of the continuing problem of London's Black on Black stabbings?
I am sure if one had been a White on Black stabbing we would have heard of it.

jno, from the link:-
in this case, about knife crime being almost exclusively a problem of young black men. That might be the case in London, but as the data that has been extracted from the Home Office reveals, taken more widely it is not true, and seeing knife crime in that way tends to obscure rather than illuminate the problem.

Despite the sniffy and superior attitude of some on this thread. I think TTT has a point.
There's approximately 30,000 Met officers, and if the figures are to be believed, almost 45% of them will be policing a tiny area of one of the largest cities in the world.
As we're always being told we don't have enough officers, how do those who have taken the superior attitude square this circle?

This from the Guardian:
/// Police at this year’s Notting Hill carnival will deploy knife arches and behavioural experts to try to thwart violence, but have dropped “Big Brother”-style facial recognition amid claims it was racially discriminatory and confused men with women. ///
And yet:
/// This year, amid rising violence on Britain’s streets, the Met will go back to old technology used in new ways.| As well as knife arches, they will deploy super-recognisers – officers with exceptional memories who can spot suspects in crowds from faces they have memorised. ///

"...but many thousands of adults and children have a great weekend."
And many others (a sizable number of those who live there) don't.
About forty years ago (when the carnival was far less disruptive than it is now) ago I knew a lady who Lived in All Saints Road. She had to leave her premises on Thursday evening and stay with her parents until Tuesday (hoping her flat would remain untouched in the meantime). Once or twice it didn't.
