I guess the EUSSR are too close to it all, to see they are, in some measure, analogous to the USSR.

ich: "Sometimes it feels like you’ve landed on Planet Moron :-) " - there you go, someone was asking for evidence of leavers being called morons the other day, right here.

Isn't this source deemed suitable. What source would satisfy you?
I always read, when someone is digging themselves deep in a debate.
"Where's the link?."what source,?" That source is not credible"Show me proof" etc etc
As the title of the OP "The truth hurts it seems".....
I'm rather at a loss that this needs explaining to you, Danny, but...

1. Yes, and when it comes to quotes which are that old there is indeed ambiguity over who said what. People aren't usually in the habit of making things up and attributing them to "the ancient philosophers." That would be considered a crass and dishonest thing to do.

2. Gorbachev is former head of state who lives in the age of mass media and print. It really should not be too hard to find a source for this damned quote.
Kromo, Just say what 'source' would satisfy you.
It isn’t the fact of supporting one side or the other that attracts the ‘moron’ observation - but I suspect you know that :-)
A citation, which explains where it comes from, Danny. Not a copy-paste of the same quote.

Christ, this is exhausting.

it's not source its the person, just dig up something by StNelson and he'll be happy as a pig in the proverbial.
I works definitely be suspicious about the one retrocop came up with. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if he came out with the other one.
Honestly I regret logging on.
You are not alone ;/)
// A citation, which explains where it comes from, Danny//
It came from Mikhail Gorbachev.
Oh my Godddddddddddddd
You don't know what it means, do you?
That you are a pedant?
Shall I have a go?
I think what kromo means is ‘where and when did Gorbachev say it’ but as I am not that exercised by it I’m not too bothered personally
Nor me actually. I am not a sceptic.
retro 13:26

spot on...always the same old names...every board on the interweb has the same type....its their classic out of the pocklet response when they realise the shovel is no longer working...
Indeed, I was... pedantically (do you need to know what that means too?)... asking for how we know this quote is actually real and was not made up on the internet somewhere.

Had I known the subsequent flailing around would last 70 replies, I would have just ignored it. You live and learn, I guess.

Anyway, I'm sick of this. I'm out. I have other things I should be spending time on. Bye, all.

/// oberleutnant junk needs to stop quaffing and keep his mouth shut...if hes that dim that he doesnt realise that we can also stop planes from countries that him and his thug cohorts seem to think they own from landing in OUR country then hes seriously deluded..oh hold on ! ///

Well it won't be the first time we stopped 'Junkers' planes from landing in our country, unless they were in flames.
