Just heard that Ruth Davidson had given birth to a boy. The Scottish Conservative leader tweeted on Friday afternoon that she and her partner Jen Wilson named the child Finn Paul Davidson. He weighed 10lb 1.5oz. Not quite sure how I feel about this but wish wee Finn a long and happy life.

andres - // Well if all goes to plan the Davidson/Wilson family will possibly get quite complicated in the future. Apparently the partner wants a child and they plan to use the same donor(I can't remember where I read this). If they do then that will mean the children will be half-siblings . Different sets of blood grandparents/relatives if each lesbian adopts the other's child. It will be a bit complicated doing a family tree. //

As is only correct - we the public are not party to the familial arrangements of Ms Davidson and her partner, but it may be that both sets of parents are in compete accord, or don't care, or are not involved, or are no longer living - obviously it matters not one iota to anyone except the people involved.

And who does family trees anyway!!!!
Jno was talking about mucky films, sparkles.
The fact those ladies are reasonably attractive and don't wear donkey jackets or Doc Martens gives the game away.
Aha , I see.
Unbelievable stereotyping from the usual crowd now I see.
Ah, the usual crowd, yes indeed, I remember them well.
Once met never forgotten.
Andres, it isn't unusual at all for half-siblings to live in the same household. Any woman who has a child with more than one father will have done that. It isn't complicated.
I have never met Ruth Davidson.
Never mamya chemical loos and all
It seems strange that people are picking out 'problematic' areas when those situations have existed in *traditional* family units since time immemorial....
I wish the little lad well and hope he has a nice life.

Indeed - our three girls grew up in such a 'problematic' situation - didn't seem to do them any harm.

AH--I was merely making an observation as to how complicated blood ties can be . One of the first questions asked of a pregnant woman is----Are you aware of any medical problems in your family history? Sperm donor children won't know the answer to that. As to the Davidson family I couldn't care less. I was merely making an observation. And as for your remark--'who does family trees nowadays?' Countless numbers of people are interested in their ancestry. Not everyone wants to cast aside an unhappy upbringing like you apparently had.

A little humour - lost in translation - my fault.
Pixie--- I am well aware that half-siblings live in the same household but they generally know who their parents are. I was making the point that with sperm donor children they don't usually know their parentage.

Ok, Andres. I don't know what information is given out 're sperm donors. Either the mother will know, or the organusations will know and will have checked the history.
