I don't agree (obviously) -- since, among other things, it addresses the throwaway comment about "but this is Trump." No. It's not about that -- it's about how painfully short-sighted this approach to policy-making is. That's not a matter of liking or disliking Trump; even some of his allies are criticising this decision.

No echo from me. It just strikes me that initially the universal objection was one of morals. That wicked Mr Trump was unfeeling because he didn’t want all those poor Mexicans pouring into his country. Now it’s about money... not our money but theirs ... but that too serves its purpose. It’s Mr Trump so anything goes.

There was a news (in the US) item from the bloke that got kicked out of the whitehouse press room for a while... can’t remember his name.

He did this wonderful we hate Trump, we hate the wall, walls don’t work segment.

He stood next to the fence and commented how quiet it was and that all the while they (the camera crew) had been there there had not been one attempt to get past. And, shock horror all the stories of lawlessness and crime in the local towns was baseless and crime had dropped.

That Trump hating left liberal thinker proved the wall works.
