Yes, of course we shouldn't expect a mere British Home Secretary to have knowledge of/access to British law like, say, you. (or, indeed, pee-pee who has appointed himself as an expert on this subject)

One would hope that Javid has done his homework on the legalities of the decision, so we don't see it overturned in court.
That would be reminiscent of when Ed Balls sacked that woman over the Baby P case, only to see the decision ruled as illegal. We subsequently had to endure the sight of her shamelessly grinning from ear to ear having being awarded huge compensation, seemingly untroubled by the tragic circumstances that led to that nice little earner.
God forbid we see anything like that happen in this case.

Just read all the other comments and can't believe some think she should be allowed back as if she's just a silly girl !! I personally think she is far more dangerous than this and only wants to come back here to enjoy the freedom and lifestyle this great country of mine will allow her, she hasn't changed a jot in my opinion and hates us, as her comments about the Manchester bombing prove. IMO she's dangerous, very dangerous.

He fired her summarily and it was held on appeal I think that he should have followed the rules
( but all that means is that a minister has to obey the law which we kinda knew anyway - but the Americans dont)
the case is here if anyone is interested

Seems there's a slight hitch in the Begum case. Bangladesh says she doesn't have citizenship and will not be allowed there.
