they have a point, primary school kids should not be getting lessons about this sort of thing.
Isn't it age related?
I'm getting 'error page' btw
Ideally children should know from an early age that we are all different and they should treat each other with respect regardless of those differences.

It's sad that a school should need to do this, when the ideal place is home.

Yes Ummmm, the programme is age related.
So they aren't being taught about sex, more love, respect and acceptance.
It relates to the 'No Outsiders' programme that has caused a hooha over the past month or more.

I think a lot of this particular protest is as much about the head Mr Moffat than anything else.
I think it's a sad concession to religious homophobia.
I agree with the parents.
Let kids be kids.
in my day sex education was at 14/15. Why must they inflict this on primary school kids? They grow up quick enough, let them have their precious years of innocence.
I think youre right lynne, heard something on radio this afternoon which indicated similar
But they are kids, doesn't mean we shouldn't teach them acceptance!
They weren't being taught about sex.
they are being taught about sex indirectly or the subject would not arise.
as was mine TTT, but lots of 11 & 12 year olds getting pregnant these days
Storm in a teacup - from 2020 (I think) this will be taught in all schools. If ALL parents could be relied upon to bring their children up to be open minded about other peoples’ lifestyles (including sexuality, religion and whatever else floats their boat) then it wouldn’t be needed.
My son is gay so I think it's a good idea. They aren't teaching the mechanics of it!
One day they are doing multiplication tables then next they are being asked to accept that some people who are girls are really boys in the wrong body, oooohhhh what a revelation. How is that relevant to them? Of course it's about sex it's TROB sexualising everything.
hasn't there already been at least 2 questions about this?
It’s relationship education, sex education is taught in secondary schools.
Yes this particular issue has been debated a few times.

I will say this - to leave children until 14/15 years of age before they are aware that we aren't all the same is asking for bother and will only increase bullying and torment carried on a wave of ignorance.
