It was announced on the BBC London news tonight that the Mayor of London has acceded to the wishes of Muslims in London to grant millions of pounds to assist in the security of Mosques. No doubt as a result of the attack on two Mosques in Christchurch. Whilst it would be abhorrent for a similar attack on any place of worship in the UK it would be irresponsible to ignore that particular threat. That is a given.
Does any one believe the Muslim Council of Great Britain will actually meet any security measures suggested half way if their security is to be subsidised by Londoners?
It would be horribly ironic should a 'being' enter a Mosque disguised head to foot in a Burka carrying a couple of MAC 10 or Scorpion miniature under their garb and perpetrate a similar massacre. Will Muslim women be allowed to continue to wear this hideous dress or,indeed, subject themselves to a strict body search when entering a Mosque? If not. So called increased security will be a sham.

// What about makeup? Women could make themself look like anyone these days. What's the difference? //

erm how does that work?
they dont wear a burqa but black out their faces with only a band around the eyes as natural colour ?
not sure about that one

/// Our shores are not on the Mediterranean. ///

They don't need to be, they are here already.

Now you are really showing your intellect or deliberately winding ABers up.
If anyone tried to enter a mosque wearing fancy dress or carnival attire or a Miss Piggy suit would it not draw your attention and may be a large dose of suspicion. Perhaps not to you ,it would appear, by the nonsense you post.
Any Burka wearing person would not arouse suspicion. It is the norm and an ideal disguise to pose a terrorist threat to worshippers going about their observations.
Your thinking ,Spath, is of more danger to the innocent and extremely helpful for nutters with guns.Think about it.
my point from that is, the burqa isn't the only way to cover up your face. So should we ban all face coverings or SFX makeup / contour? Anything to make people not look like themselves? (the answer is no by the way)
I'm sure if a 'normal' seeming Muslim person went into a mosque with SFX makeup no one would be any wiser.

Just like people who body paint clothes on, most people don't notice.

Maybe get my point before you're rude.
Spath...when did you become so sensitive. You're on the wind up and irritating people. Give it a rest and go and do some gardening or something!!!
spath to Retrocop, //Maybe get my point before you're rude. //

Stop with the 'rude' ... please.... something you regularly revert to in times of need. It doesn't do the job intended.

Which one in the above photograph in the link is carrying an AK47,wearing a suicide vest or not wearing any under clothing?
Dear Lord, Spath, have a day off would ya.
So retro you're implying if we could see all the faces (like we can see the one) then we'd know which one had a AK47?
Our Barclay's bank robber wore a burkha when he tried to rob them Only the white trainers and plastic carrier bag gave him away!
Last week on tv we saw pictures of hundreds of black, burkha clad women ,milling round the refugee camps in Syria .Lots of children in the camp. I did wonder how on earth the women recognise one another when all you can see are their eyes? How do the children know which one is their mother if they become separated?Must be a problem.

Which one do you think is carrying the equipment I described?
retro @11.10 illustrates my point.^^^
Question Author
Apropos to last post. Which one has a full beard as well?
"Which one do you think is carrying the equipment I described?"

Is one even carrying equipment??? this is a futile example.
The idea of metal detectors is much better than the idea of banning the burka. If a detector goes off then further exam can take place. Simple.

//Is one even carrying equipment??? this is a futile example.//

Your answer implies you have no clue if they are a threat or not. That would suggest they are a potential security threat.
To ignore the possible threat makes any enhanced security measures in Mosques futile. What is more it does not cost anything to implement.
Oh dear. Has JF85 gone? I was rather hoping for a response to my question at 10:40 Tue. Perhaps later.
