Of course he's correct.
Yes he's correct, just not politically so.
Probably. But it depends which part of London he is talking about
London like many other cities around the UK are Multicultural but unless its been shifted I still believe it to be in England.
Most deffo. Really can't stand Cleese but I agree with that opinion. If it wasn't for my elderly parents I would of left London years ago as my sister wisely did.
Geographically no. Culturally arguably so.
//Probably. But it depends which part of London he is talking about//

Most of it I would suggest. I was born and raised in London. Worked and lived in London. I know most of London.
'Don't mention the war'
Baldric, tell retrocop it's would have or would've please. Ta.
London has a history of immigration coming into the East End as a gateway to a better life. Huguenots, Jews, Irish, Bangladeshis. That is the nature of the place. Same as New York. When was it every really English?
*ever*
Ta for your correction Douglas.
Does he live in London?
John Cleese is most definitely correct in this statement. This could also apply to several other places in England.
No probs, should of spotted it earlier.
I visit central London quite a lot and worked there for almost all my working life. I enjoy going abroad because wherever I go I hear more English spoken than I do when walking down Oxford Street or Charing Cross Road.
what does he mean, "any more"? London remains in England, but it's been a lure for immigrants since the Romans arrived. He's living in a Fawlty-style dream world where everyone's always been white and spoken his language, except for a few Cockneys.
I live in London and I hardly ever go down Oxford st. Probably once a year. You can`t really say that Oxford St represents London.
Of course he's not correct. London is in England and London is a city. Therefore, London is an English city.

He lives in the Caribbean.
