The trashy right-wing press is over-quoted on this site - by which I mean the Daily Fail (sic) and the Daily Express. Is it indicative of the intelligence of said posters? Do they not read the Torygraph which at least has more articulate journalists even if one disagrees with their views?

Like the Tories the Party was infiltrated by the liberal left who represent the champagne socialists not the working man. Since then they have been infiltrated by Communists, also who do not represent the 'working man'.

I have friends who are Labour supporters and i suspect that many of their friends are the same. But when you look at their lifestyle, they would be considered distinctly middle class, good schools for the kids, good jobs and home ownership.. you would think they would be prime candidates for tory membership, but they aren't.

Surely it doesn't matter which oracle is quoted, ABers are quite capable (and usually do) of finding other sources giving an alternative view of the matter.

One of the reasons the DM is so frequently quoted is that it is (was) quite frankly the best Newspaper site on the web. I mean that in terms of look and user-friendliness rather than actual content. However, now that it demands that any Ad-blocker be disabled before access is granted, it may be less frequently the 'go-to' online newspaper.
We shall have to see.

The problem with quoting a story from the Mail or some other tabloid is that it's likely to be so biased, if not downright untrue, that we're essentially discussing fiction.

I always tend to link to the BBC news website, because at least you can be sure that the story actually happened, even if they have put their [leftie\metropolitan elite\luvvie\anti-Corbyn\pr-establishment]* slant on it.

I've argued that the BBC isn't biased towards the left - until I watched Nick Robinson doing his bit in the run up to the election before last. Since then the bias has become more obvious. Question Time is one of the worst offenders.

Re The Torygraph etc It is a well-known fact that the papers that used to be broadsheets (Times, Guardian, Telegraph, Independent) require a higher reading age than that required for what used to be called tabloids. Maybe the Daily Fail etc fans should remember that.
