For what it’s worth, deskdiary, I shopped in GUM during the Communist era and I couldn’t spend my money because there was nothing much to buy. Diddly really wouldn’t have liked it.

To those who called me a liar re the footpath near Chequers - it was extinguished or diverted a number of years ago as it was perceived to be a security risk. Try looking at an old OS map.

Yes when my Jen was put in medically induced coma after kidney failure a nurse monitored her 24 / 7. They were kind enough to keep a dairy for her, so she could read it when she got home.
Tony how is she doing now....
She's doing best as can be expected, still having community nurse visiting, but some brain damage has been diagnosed due to a short starvation of oxygen. Some days she doesn't know what day of the week it is. She's a bit frustrated about not being able to drive but so be it.
