Girls At Risk Of Child Marriage …
…. as half of local authorities fail to keep records

So while half the country is puffing hysterically over a man driving a couple of hundred miles, another effect of lockdown is ignored. Still, at least we can pat ourselves on the back for getting our priorities right.

Once again you are offering unfounded assumptions.
You have no idea what mozz may, or may not have done in terms of addressing issues with extremists, but you presume to pronouce on what you have decided is his lack of action.
The problem with observations like ' ... which is further than most' infers that because the majority of posters don't spend regular amounts of time updating you on their outrage, that they condone what is happening.
As Mozz points out, posting on here is not addressing the issue, but that is not the same as suggesting that not posting means people simply don;t care, or turn a blind eye.

//if this is going on on British soil, action must be taken, regardless of religion.//
Precisely. If we examine the reasons that this practice flourishes we find that within such cultures girls are not expected to become financially independent but remain the responsibility of their fathers/brothers until they marry, when that responsibility passes to their husbands - which is why girls are forced into marriage and often at a very young age. To put it bluntly, once married they’re no longer a liability to the family. We now have a situation where, in a liberal western society, rather than accepting that opportunity for independence is available to all and encouraging their daughters to seek that, people cling to old ways thereby denying their daughters the freedoms they should be offered.

// First we need to drain the liberal elite swamp and restore the will of the majority. //
What exactly does this mean?
'drain the liberal elite swamp' Correct me if I've misunderstood this. You seem to be implying that people who are in favour of everyone being entitled to their own religious beliefs should be...well, what? Barred from office? Barred from public speaking? Jailed? Please explain.
'restore the will of the majority' Are you suggesting a different method of electing representatives? No elections at all? Please explain.

Had the Guardianistas not been so adament about 'cultural rights' twenty or more years ago this wouldn't have been allowed to become the problem it has. Everyone had to tread softly softly for fear of upsetting 'the community' and this is the result. Lockdown may have exacerbated the situation but let's not pretend it's the only reason.
TTT, thank you. The thing is, currently the majority of these girls are living between two worlds. Some of course are sent to Islamic schools for their education which by its very nature is restrictive, but the rest attend mainstream school, mix with other children of all cultures, and receive a good all-round education - something that would often be denied them in the land of their fathers - think Malala - but at home they’re still subject to that same old-world culture. I want these girls to enjoy the freedoms that, simply by virtue of living in a western society, they are entitled to. I’m on their side!
There's nothing wrong with respecting cultural differences, but lines should be drawn when the safety of individuals, not just children, is put at risk while on British soil.
And if anyone stands against such action, bluntly put, screw them. If anyone supports forced marriage, or genital mutilation, or whatever else is going on, especially when children are involved, they are part of the problem.
This should not be seen as an anti-muslim problem, or a cultural problem, just a problem of what is right or wrong, and most reasonable Muslims would agree with that.

// /[Forced marriage] predominately a feature of Islamic culture.
Absolute rubbish. //
No, gromit, it isn't. You do these girls no favours.
My lady Naomi has it - 50% pakistani - and many fewer from Bangla ( the other side of India) which is odd - and of course other islamic countries ( Egypt, Mali ) dont feature.
- the reason why there is no register - if you read the forced marriage reports which I have - is that a lot of this is secret, house hound and not associated with school etc,
// Still, at least we can pat ourselves on the back for getting our priorities right// yup exactly- 1500 reported last year - and they acknowledge many unreported and none dead
and 38 000 dead with covid
have fun boys and girls

// UK based family shell out Brit passports //
Do stop insulting the intelligence of the majority of people here who are perfectly well aware that such families have absolutely no say in who gets a British passport.
If someone meets the criteria laid down by this government for spouses of British citizens [one of which is three years permanent residence by the way] to be entitled, then they may apply. If you don't like the government's rules write to your MP.
