In a nutshell although I believe Mr Farage may have been disillusioned with Globals and his fellow presenters and realised he didn't like the company he was keeping. His contract was due for renewal in anycase and ,with his ratings on LBC higher than any others, I'm sure he could find another slot on another station if he wished to pursue his media career. I am sure LBC will find their ratings will drop drastically now as most listeners switch off for O'Briens slot.
,
Perhaps Retro, they're trying to get shot of the types who listen to and lap up the BS Farage spews out to appeal more completely to a younger, lefty audience. I dont listen to LBC, and nor will I start to, but perhaps it is a planned shift. Not losing listeners, but replacing them.
When in the car LBC tends to be my station of choice, as I like Ferrari, Eddie Mair and Iain Dale, but if I happen to be in the car when O’Brien is, I have to change station.
I’m all for political bias on a commercial station, and I have no problem listening to left wing presenters, but O’Brien is just far too rabid; he is an intensely annoying ***.
Having now read the article in the Metro (thanks for the link) it seems the station owners got fed up with Farage telling it like it is, and upsetting the supporters of the mob. So whether the resignation was a free choice or forced is of low consequence. It's about another business wanting to jump on a bandwagon and encourage the latest appalling behaviour.
Boris said, " I Compare all Muslim Women to "Letter Boxes". ....... Before all you Dyed in the wool Tories on here leap to his defence, yes he did say it.
Sack him .
As I recall he said words to the effect that they loked like pillarboxes in their burqas, which, of course, is a valid comparison whether folk like that fact or not. I think you need to check your "quotes".
//good for Boris, says it like it is...they do resemble letterboxes, paint them red and people would be shoving letters in the slot...//
Maybe Mr Magoo would!
Gully, he said the letter box thing two years ago. Bad taste, but intended as a joke. You can't sack someone for something that happened, quite publicly, before they were elected. You're clutching at straws.
So when Boris came up with "Letter Box " image, it was intended as a joke.
Perhaps Cummings making his Illegal trip to Durham was also intended as a joke.If a member of the Public did either , would they be prosecuted, or could they tell the Police . "It was intended as a joke.
If a member of the public had made the letterbox joke, nobody would have batted an eyelid. Why are you bringing up something that happened two years ago? Surely there are more recent, and relevant Boris faux pas' you can use against him?
