BLN demanding offensive ( to them) all that depicts the past ?
Like Nazi Germany’s Hitler ( Fawlty Towers )
And Churchill .....
Surely if it hadn’t been for Churchill ,things would have been unthinkable for Jews,Gay people etc
Or is it the BBC being it’s usual biased self ?

Its an interesting comment from a few though
effectively "I never saw them (signs) so they didn't exist"

Who said that?
vulcan, it will be the same version of Fawlty Towers you've been watching for years.
Roy, perhaps the post at 2208.
I remember seeing back in the sixties and in the leafy glades of Sussex, a sign saying House for sale, blacks only. I made inquiries and discovered the owner put it up just to annoy his neighbour .
Those signs,I assure you, did appear in boarding house windows in Hammersmith, Willesden,Harlesden,Willesden,Acton,Crickelwood areas. Ironic really considering that those areas later became large Irish and Black enclaves. Not sure about the dogs though.

I now have it on reliable authority the dogs moved to Battersea . S.W. London.
TONY, that leaflet was printed for the 1970 General Election in the Clapham constituency

It predates that. In 1964 the slogan in Smethwick was: If you want a n****** for a neighbour vote Liberal or Labour.
jno I noticed this on the Mail link that's on another post.
\\ In 2013, the BBC removed the offensive language from future broadcasts on the grounds public attitudes had 'changed significantly', acting with the full backing of writer Cleese.//
Perhaps they put it back again :o)
I can confirm that the major still differentiates between West Indians and Indians on Youtube.

All is right with the world.

Woofgang said ''a few''
Just to repeat - yet again - the point about Fawlty Towers. The UKTV version which they withdrew is NOT the same version as the current BBC version.

I’m pleased we have the 12 only episodes that were ever made in a box set , maybe a collectors item in years to come :0/
