No, this couple who were minor famous but most of us had never heard of them, had the presence of mind to record the incident on their phone. And they put it on social media. The public tended to believe them instead of the Police version which contradicted the published video.
We have only been discussing this for 2 days because there is an alternate version of the incident to the Police version.
The Government/ Home Office are embarrassed, so they police have been ordered to do mea culpa.

There is the distinct possibility that this "celebrity couple" orchestrated this entire stunt and obtained the result that they aimed for. They knew damn well that following recent incidents world-wide, the winds of the emotional, social, and political climate were blowing in their favour.

The screaming made for a good YouTube video. Whether it was genuine or an act, it doesn’t matter a jot. They were completely innocent. The Police have apologised so that is admitting they got it wrong.
Police said they could smell cannabis in the car but didn’t test them??? Wasted their time for an hour, and a simple roadside test could have sorted it out in 5 minutes, but it never happened. The athletes asked to be tested for drugs during the incident, but the cops didn’t do it.

I don't believe it works like that these days. More like the police apologised in an effort to ease tensions - a bit like they 'took the knee' in an effort to placate the mob. I'd hazard a guess that most of them would rather have been kicking a few butts.
