Is this inevitable? So many office jobs are far from useful, involving moving bits of paper around, or making phone calls, that people just aren’t going to miss a few million office workers not turning up.
A bit like many hospital clinic consultations, just as effective done by telephone, people might be waking up to the tremendous waste of time that society indulges in.

Of course he will. I've mentioned this extensively in the past. Up to now people have been sent home with a laptop and told to get on with it. Many of them are working at home in most unsuitable conditions and very soon employers are going to have to shape up and meet their responsibilities.

Commendable in theory - but in order to pay their salaries - and for the treatment the sick need - the country needs to generate wealth. Without Capitalism, how would you suggest we do that?

for many of those whose jobs are declared "of no use", becoming a paramedic would probably be beyond their ability. today's entry requirements are incredibly academic in nature. on the practical level, even if the budget was available (which it isn't) it's a non starter.
