Maybe this is one of the reasons why we are struggling so badly in this pandemic crisis?

What is it going to take for the government to get properly on top of public order matters?

no many won;t see their families again, but you don't seem to have any solution other than to give the demo people a drenching, which is unlikely to happen. As to those travelling to far distant places, don't know the answer to that, other than the police who surely have better things to do, to turn them around, back to London or wherever they have come
Question Author
Sticky bottle without being aggressive or insulting can you explain to us what your issue is and what your solution is?

Certainly. Stay home. Don’t drive hundreds of miles to go for a walk.
Don’t take the whole family shopping to Tesco and treat it as a day out.
Don’t go to raves. Don’t go to house parties.
Don’t go to demos.
Wear a mask. Socially distance properly.
If you decide to demonstrate, expect the full weight of the law to descend upon you.
The law don’t want you in cells and clogging up the justice system so expect a soaking instead to encourage you to go home because you are already breaking the rules.
Or if you don’t believe the virus is real, volunteer to work in a hospital instead of attending a demo.
Get vaccinated if you have the chance.
That enough to be going on with?
no one has the solution to this virus, which has spread throughout the country, one can only hope that these vaccines will be rolled out sooner than later, but i wouldn't hold my breath on that one -

So what are your solutions? Not seen many from you.
All people have to do is FOLLOW THE RULES AND THIS WILL ALL END A LOT SOONER.
That clear enough?
hospitals don't want potential carriers in them, volunteering isn't an option, raves, parties if one knows about them, perhaps they can be shut down.
only going on local area many don't wear masks or social distance, its just not policeable at all - i can keep myself safe or try but others don't or won;t obey these laws, rules -
i am not in government, and there is no need to shout, i don;t have an answer nor does anyone, follow the rules, laws as best you can, but many aren't - drench the demonstrators if you think that will work, but i reckon there are laws against being able to do so, NJ our judge usually weighs in with the latest laws, perhaps he knows the rules, laws on getting the fire brigade to soak these demonstrators.
i have followed the bloody rules, many haven't.
I believe those not following the rules is in the minority.
Question Author
It is policeable, it just needs to be done with the full force of the law because people are flouting the rules far too often and too easily, time to get tough, we’ve had our warnings and not taken heed unfortunately.
People blame the government for the Christmas Day easing but advised to avoid it if possible.
Just because you are allowed, doesn’t mean you have to.
Some were sensible, some weren’t.
Now we pay the price for all the other collective misdeeds.
Question Author
Wasn’t shouting, it’s difficult to do that with a keyboard.
I can use capital letters to assist people in reading the signs though, so much easier because lots seem to be struggling, as events have shown.
and i don't believe that for a minute - try and lockdown millions, as they have been trying to do, Bobbi posted and others have too on their local areas, where people were out in force over the Christmas break, and for NYE many thousands flocked to see the fireworks in London, i only saw the pictures but the people werent being dispersed as far as i could tell.

Very true, but more than enough to impact on the rest of us and our lives.
Question Author
More excuses emmie but still not heard any solutions from you.
i only know what i see around me in my local area where some people have worn masks many not, those shopping not wearing one, the shops say nothing, the local supermark has a sign up asking people to cover up that is all -
Stickybottle - It is obvious that you are passionate about this matter but getting angry and shouting at ABers about it really helps no-one.
There are a couple of nay-sayers/disbelievers on this forum but, in general, the remainder understand that personal inconvenience must be borne in order for us to get on top of the problem sooner rather than later.
The fact that so many members of the General Public are behaving likes ar**s cannot be laid at the feet of the Govt. There are too many of them in too many areas for the Police to be able to deal with properly; resources (and officers) are finite and they still have to be available to carry out their duties outside of the pressures to police Covid-matters.
Question Author
I’ll leave it at that for now, Boris has already said that restrictions will get tougher so we shall without question reap what we have sown.
for god sake why should i have any solutions, the government don't, except more lockdowns higher tier than 4, but many won't, or haven;t obeyed the rules, laws, i don't honestly think there is a straightforward answer. Vaccine rollout to get this country working again, but that with the best will in the world is going to take a long time to do.

Stickybottle - It is obvious that you are passionate about this matter but getting angry and shouting at ABers about it really helps no-one.

Shouldn’t everyone be passionate about wanting themselves and their relatives to survive?
As for shouting, I didn’t realise capital letters on a website were audible I just thought they accentuated a point but never mind.
Enjoy what you can of your day everybody.
I wasn't just referring to the capitals but the hectoring tone of your posts.
I know that you have a particular set of reasons for your posts but don't assume that you are the lone voice crying in the wilderness.
no you are not a lone voice, but one can only do what latest guidelines say, if others don't then sorry what is one supposed to do.
